20% off Irish Ferries 2024 bookings made before February 2029

 Is that travelling in the Tardis?

How can you book a 2024 crossing after 2024?

Just looking, is there a code for this ?
No code required as it takes the 20 per cent off as you go through the booking system and note that the original price may be in Euros.
I have just got £168 return from May to July for motorhome. Bit of a bargain. Tying up loose ends and will noting the OP who just earned a beer for this thread

you might need the 20% to dry clean your clothes afterwards

we were on one Sep 2022 and it was filthy.. the lounge seating was stained and disgusting .. like it had been peed on and dried in..

maybe it's be cleaned since then, but won't use again

we came back on it in october it looked like it had been to the battle of trafalgar

Been using them for 3 years now (12 crossings) and very happy. Good value and good service.

We have used them several times but go on the better ship, the one with a private lounge. The other ship is not very nice, even the staff say so as well. Can't remember it's name though

We booked a return crossing for next April/May at the weekend, with our Tesco vouchers and the discount we paid a balance of £12.40 :xThumb:

Never said anything about value or service. .

I said

They don't get such praise in Trust Pilot

OK - I wasn't specific enough. In addition to the other stuff I've not noticed it being dirty. (Maybe I'm just naturally minging and smelly so don't notice these things)

As for reviews - I'm just giving my experience of 12 trips, all of which were good enough for me. I've travelled on all the various ferries and the shuttle (now that is minging!!!) and am more than happy with Irish ferries.

Just my opinion based on my experience.

my opinion based on my experience.
Which you are rightly entitled to..

I reported what we experienced, ie. dirty soiled seats in the passenger lounge, that wasn't an opinion.. that was a fact.

Perhaps you have been lucky, or they have since cleaned it up since I complained .. but I am not alone in my findings..

Just one of dozens of many bad reviews

Innisheer - take Eurotunnel instead!

Took the 20.55 on 4th September 2023 crossing from Calais to Dover. Usually use Eurostar but did this because ES tickets now 5 times more expensive (that's another story). A totally dreadful experience. 2 hour queue for British passport control. Ferry delayed 1 hour. Then a miserable crossing on a scruffy overcrowded vessel with the WORST food I have tasted in years. In fact the worst fried fish EVER and at a price! £32 for 2 plates of inedible fish and 'chips' which were actually budget potato croquettes. Utterly inedible - we were offered a free coffee in compensation. What an awful way to enter the UK. But a great way to deter troublesome foreign tourists from ever returning to Britain.

Date of experience: 04 September 2023

I ve just read a few of the reviews from the link.
From my point of view, queues at customs will be the same for all ferries, overcrowding is unlikely to be illegal but annoying for an hour and a half, rubbish food doesnt affect me as I wouldnt pay to eat on any ferry, stained furniture is unlikely to be every chair and we sit outside if dry anyway, and £104 savings in my pocket outstrips a bit of inconvenience, if it were to occur. I appreciate we are all different but I like my money and dont like spending it and that saving should pay for all the aires we would use for a few weeks.

if you think that a scruffy overcrowded ferry with filthy seats is just "inconvenient" and a saving of £104 is more important .... fair enough

I agree, we are indeed all different..

It must depend when you travel. I have never seen a Irish ferry more than 20% capacity. It always feels like a ghost ship to me. But then I don't travel at weekends or holidays times and I also choose the cheapest time to travel which will be off peak.

Food - I did have a breakfast once as I was on the way home from 2 months in Europe and desparate for a fry up. It was nothing special and over priced. Generally though I wouldn't eat in the ferry restaurant. The whole point for me is getting the cheapest crossing so I wouldn't normally waste the saved Monday in an overpriced restaurant.

I would recommend their duty free though.if you order in advance you get an additional 10% off what already competitive prices if you choose your product carefully. Got a couple of excellent whiskies last time for an excellent price.

If you want a slightly better level of comfort they do have a VIP lounge but paying for that defeats the object of cheap travel for me.

You have moved up to second in the "Motorhomefun Martin Lewis impersonator" awards just behind Wombles

But the VIP is only available on 1ship, the other ship is

nope.. not asking for luxury .. just a clean seat.

there may have been other clean ones that were occupied, didn't inspect every one, but dirty seats are not acceptable, do they only clean the VIP seats ?

why make excuses for a company that doesn't provide clean the seats for all passengers ..not just VIPs... ..

Look, I'm not making excuses. I recommended them as...

1. They are offering 20% off what is already the cheapest crossing.

2. I've used them 12 times in less than 3 years and never experienced any of what you are saying. In my opinion an excellent company (I suggested VIP as you seem to prefer a little luxury.)

Anyway, all that aside you've decided to try to give a negative view on a post I made letting people know of a good offer. If you are not interested fair enough. Leave it at that.

I'm not interested in discussing this with you anymore.

nor I ..

I had a poor experience with Irish Ferries and gave a solid reason.. I posted to inform not debate.

That is what a forum is for..

I think if you get the Isle of Inishmore you might have a better experience. We had a nice crossing on this boat in May 2022.

perhaps, but in any case we will be using Newhaven this year.. it's cheaper, and as we are heading to the west coast, it saves 200 miles (round trip) of driving in France .. a saving of fuel and peage costs .. and it's only 9 miles extra than going to Dover, with all it's hold-ups and problems.. and if required you can stop overnight at the Newhaven ferry terminal

Driving distance from Dartford Crossing to Dover .. 66 ml

Ì put in the same dates July / August and appropriate times as our booking made in November with DFDS, and their 20% discount booking price is £3 more.  Bob.

I did the same for our April crossing with the other carriers including the tunnel. P&O were the closest to our Irish Ferries cost but were nearly £60 more, DFDS were over £100 more and weren't much cheaper than the tunnel.

We've just booked another return crossing for September, again using Tesco vouchers & with the discount it cost us £16.40 :xThumb:
