German snow birds heading home.

There have been many more German vans (and French and Dutch) here in the Murcia region than ever before. It's good to see them now moving on. Even as a wild parker, we've hated to see the hordes of motorhomes parked wherever they liked. It made it impossible for us to enjoy a night or two at our local coast, if we fancied it, but we were more upset about the ones who went inland, because the coast was full, to our favourite spots, and then abused the areas. Lighting fires to barbie on (in a no open fire region without a licence) and a few of them dumping cassette contents in the bushes. If we lose these lovely areas we'll not be happy people!

I think there may be more banned areas next season 🤔

Did you have a chance to visit the Beziers multiple lock flight? Most entertaining to watch the hire boats from the superiority of one's own boat!
It is always entertaining watching hire boats entering and leaving locks, though you can tell the ones who know how to handle a boat
..... narrowboat sterns caught on the sill is less amusing though but not uncommon

Did you stay at the vineyard by the canal?
We had a bit of a nightmare with traffic in Béziers. We'd intended stopping at the camperstop by the canal, but it had been flooded earlier in the year, and there were reports of it still being very muddy.
We ended up parking at Auchan for the afternoon and walking into the city. We moved to one of your favourite Camping Carpark aires at Murviel-lès-Béziers for the night. It was OK but nothing special. The main thing was that it was safe in the very high winds.
We also found Pézenas to be challenging. The motorhome spaces in the car park were a no-go. They were taken up by apparent van-dwellers. Even if we'd been able to get in, we probably wouldn't have been able to get out again.
We were very glad we had a narrow van, when the satnav took us on a tour of the inner city one-way streets 🙈.
Today has been much less eventful. We're at a lovely town we'd never heard of before - Sommières - at the municipal campsite £14.

Was that the Aire at the back of the car park as I thought that Was fairly sold with a fair bit of gravel.
Could have told you about a nice little restaurant round the back lanes, we didn't fancy any in the main square.
The back part was roped off because it was flooded. I stopped in the second to back part and it was decidedly damp under foot. They must have had a lot of rain recently in Northern Spain.

Most of the reataurants outside of the main square were closed. From reviews I fancied Le Paribou but it had not yet opened for the season with chairs stacked on top of tables.

If you get stuck for a place to stay, we stopped at Valencia Camper Park, its just outside the centre, literally next door to the train station for trips into centre. The campsite staff are really helpful with tips, they also sell the train tickets, and refund any unused tickets at conclusion of stay.

Well worth a look in Valencia is City of Arts and Sciences, it's quite spectacular to see from the outside, you don't necessarily have to venture inside if it's not your thing, the buildings and water features alone are really impressive.
That is where we headed for. Stopped here for 3 nights and going to visit Valencia centre on Monday

That's the one I was going to recommend.:giggle:
