Gassing the battery type

Not had much time to test but sunny today and this happens despite on user settings with absorption v set to 14.3 as per manufacturer guidelines

In your screen shot shows 14,6v. Well above the 14.3v you saying.
Anything above 14,45v is excessive gassing.

Can you do a voltage measurement at the battery terminals, and read what the solar controller is indicating too? Just to confirm that the controller is reading the battery voltage correctly.

Looks to me like you have a faulty regulator that is not responding to the setting you have input.
John DBK had a Victron regulator go faulty last year he found out when it started cooking his battery even worse than yours it was outputting 17 volts.

Good idea it should be as I have the additional battery sense that sends voltage and temp to controller but that could also be faulty will isolate and check

Yes only the third one fitted maybe fourth time lucky once I’ve checked it’s reading voltage ok?

Blimey, pleased I fitted a Votronic.

Just thought looking at your solar voltage of 65v I take it you have the panels in series. Wondering on a bright mid summer day the voltage is rising too high for the regulator and blowing it.

Second was a voltronic but dual output that cut off at 50v panel and 12v battery so never charged leisure bat and was safety feature to stop starter over charging? I’ll check spec for this charger re voltage thanks
