Hi funsters
Hoping for some experience/ advice regarding a gas low refillable system.
Just read 2019 thread but still confused!
Chatting with our dealer today ( we expect delivery of our new 6m PVC end of June )
He showed us the gas low kit and it had 2 11kg bottles. I said surely if it’s refillable we only need 1 bottle? IE less weight and hopefully a bit of extra room for careful storage. He said he advises 2 incase we run out!
Doesn’t this defeat the object?
We will only use gas for cooking ( 2 burners, no oven or grill) and heating water when on aires. We are not really into cold weather motorhoming, so do not expect to need heating all that much and besides we intend to keep the bottle topped up regularly. Am I missing something?

One bottle will be loads if only cooking and water. Presumably diesel heater.
Its easy to add a second if needed, but i only have 1

We have 2 x 11Kg cylinders. In February this year, we spent 4 weeks in Spain in an Aire with power, we came home with one full and one half full cylinder. During an earlier trip to Iceland for 4 weeks we only used 1/2 of an 11Kg cylinder for the whole trip. I use the camp site shower, my wife uses the one in the motorhome.

Maybe just have one 11Kg cylinder and keep a backup 6Kg Calor tucked away for the just in case you run out situations.

Very similar / the same as Safefill cylinders used by some Funsters including us.

Standard pigtail connections with Continental adapters available.

This link goes to my website from when we had our Campscout and has some info about the smaller square type filler I fitted in the bumper, did similar on the previous camper too.

Yes that's what I thought But don't want to mess with pigtails Leave my present set up Just change bottles for lighter ones

If they are like Safefill then they don’t need a gauge, you can see the level. When dark I dangle a torch behind the cylinder and the fluid level is easy to see.

I have an 11kg Gaslow cylinder. I have a Calor cylinder tucked away somewhere, but the Gaslow gauge is so good I haven't needed a backup.

I got through three times that in a six week tour of France & Spain recently. Mostly fridge, cooking and hot water with the odd bit of heat on a couple of chilly mornings. Mostly off-grid.
Similar to us we get through 14kg in 15 days.
