Gaslow bottle query

I hate to say it but in my opinion that has been cut off with an gas torch, hence the paint removal and spatter on the tank and trapped where it has been cut off.If it had been cut with a grinder, the cut material would travel away from the tank.
You can see where the cutting disc has marked the paint. It hasn't been burned off. The 'spatter' looks to me like build up from someone using fairy liquid to check for leaks.
As far as I know, Gaslow stopped using shrouds about 2005. In which case, a bottle which originally had a shroud would be over 15 years old and should really be binned.
It's stamped till 2022.

Always difficult to tell from a photo, shouldn't have done any damage then 👍 shame they didn't do a tidier job!

Well this issue just rumbles on. I spoke to gaslow and the guy couldn't have been more helpful. He told me to disconnect the hose from bottle 1 to changeover valve, give it a clean out and make sure air can travel through it. I did this and it seems fine. I also did this for bottle 2.

I connected it all back up and left bottle 2 closed and 1 open. Got the boiler on and all hobs burning so happy days. Left it on for a good bit then shut them all off and moved my van back to my park up spot. Left the heating on for a while and all fine until the next day when the boiler would not light and no gas at hob.

I've had another idea. Could I have had a crash sensor type device fitted and maybe that's what the loose wires in gas locker are? Would this maybe shut off the gas supply?
