Gas manifold on Skyhooks

I’ve just brought back into service my youngest daughter’s similar appliance. It’s mounted on a trolley similar to a sack truck, has a 6kg lpg cylinder strapped underneath, and fires up immediately when the water starts to flow. Luckily it’s only used out in the open for washing the horses down!

Why are most things "washed down", but dishes are "washed up"

Its to do with the water in the bowl washing up in a circular motion . But in Australia its dishes washed down and horses washed up
