I have recently bought a Garmin Camper 795 Sat Nav that worked fine for the 6 weeks I was in Spain and France but this week it has started to go very dim and I can't see it in bright sunlight, then it comes back again and repeats the cycle, anyone else having the same problem?

You could try a factory reset.
Theres a couple of ways to do that, and even one for when you cannot see screen. These all failed to revive mind (tried everything so didnt have to buy another lol), in the ops case get it replaced under warrenty!

My, pretty useless one, does that too unless fully charged before plugging into power supply in the van. It is also a pain in going to sleep instead of off when i switch it off.

Also Is it charging ok. Using a different usb cable to charge can result in the screen going dim. Check the amount of charge the battery has. And try a different charge cable.

I'm a newbie
I had the same problem, in the end I contacted Garmin and they said it had to be plugged into the cigarette socket, it doesn’t get enough power if plugged into a usb socket.

My has been fine since I started using the cigarette plug.
Hope that helps.
