Thanks.Things have changed it seems.As we stay 3/4 nights that sounds like a lot of forward planning and loss of flexibility on duration of stay.Sites probably prioritise long stay bookers.Thinking we had best pick two locations of 1 month each to get a look in and it possibly a lower pitch price.
Sign of the times,more & more vans each year I guess . Do you mind me asking the average cost of a pitch you experienced?

Anywhere from €10 for a camper spot , up to €30 for a campsite with a pool

We travelled to Elvas this morning and managed to have a good look around before the rains kicked in.
Picked up some local bread , a nice sliced cob which we used some for cheese and onion sandwiches for our lunch.
Even though I'm sure we could have stayed next to the aqueduct for tonight, we decided to travel to Marvão.
We had 2 other options in mind, one was next to a river and the other one was next to a lake, with the weather been so damp and wet (currently chucking it down) I'm glad we chose the high ground just in case.
Luckily we got a break in the weather when we arrived and got a nice photo of the view.
Eating in tonight as I'm not getting soaked, hopefully it's better tommorow so we can have a mooch about the castle and town.

We called into to Valencia de alcantara to do a service and a walkabout, nice enough but not enough for us to stopover.
Pitch are very small.

The weather is still pants, we are currently at Placensia, we have been here before.

Try to find the sun again if I was you. We only came home from Panama yesterday and are fed up of the cold already. Where are we going for our summer sun this year? Flippin Iceland in June and July! I doubt I’ll take my fleece off all year now bah humbug.
