Gareth & Phil have fun in Spain 2025.

There's some lovely vineyards there. Some of them have cellar doors. In Haro, there are a couple of specialist wine shops, but the alcampo supermarket on the outskirts has space to park up when you shop with a cheap fuel station, we shall be topping up with essentials their tommorow
We have regularly used Muga vineyard as their sparkling rose is very nice.
I would be most grateful if you could recommend a good restaurant in Haro as we intend staying in Haro for couple on nights next April Please. Enjoy

Although the tapas no book scene is very nice as well.
The restaurant i have mentioned we have done a few times and the suckling pig is to die for.

Even though we enjoyed the copious amounts of free wine and a small snack in the club lounge we also went for dinner in the restaurant and it was very nice.

My mate is on that sailing. He's driving down to the Costa Blanca in his Lotus Exige.
Enjoy your trip🍻

It's bright Orange, you can't miss it😎
I do believe we were chatting to your mate and his Danish partner yesterday afternoon in the bar while consuming a few pints of Moretti .

Sounds sexy:ROFLMAO: I guess you mean just with rice? Well, we'll see about that if you do it🙂(y)
Actually it means without shells on the prawns, I take these off prior to cooking de-vane and de shelled.
The shells are then cooked with garlic to create a stock, drained and then added to the paella (with a decent fish stock cube).

Currently about 1 hour from Zaragoza, had to stop for a caffeine break as I'm feeling a little tired. We stopped at Haro and spent far too much on wine 😮🤣🤣

Sounds great - and so much easier (and less messy) to eat!

As we have done Teruel before phil came up with albaracin, booked the local aire for Sunday arrival.
Perfect.
If you mean this one ? We struggled with entry and had to enlist the help of others - I am struggling to remember the difficulty with the registration process but if you have already sorted it and reserved then you may have the gate code already. We were one of 3 on the aire and watched others struggle to get in and give up and turn away.
Gate code required for reentry on foot so make sure you have a backup copy in case phone dies or something - you will take lots of photos!

Although the large cabin looks like it should have toilets/showers, it doesn’t - but it does have a free to use washing machine!

We are heading to Spain again and heading to Haro as well, I will be very interested in your info in the bodegas. I don’t particularly like Rioja but I had a 2023 in Palma and loved it. I prefer newer wines rather than aged.
We like a full bodied rioja but are also quite fond of a juven (young) wine which we get in 5L wine boxes from the campsite at Haro. It travels well too, is easy drinking but we wouldn't serve it to a couple of our friends, at least not unless in a decanter🤣
We have been getting it for several years and though it varies a bit, is still very quaffable. For comparison my favourite wine is Amarone and i drinl both.

Paella ciega is the correct term, but if you want to make it while naked then so be it.
