We are currently in vendome with what we think is a wheel bearing issue, sounds dreadful when driving, just wondered if anyone knew of a place in vendome that we could get to look at it.
we do have breakdown cover, but just wanted to cover all options
Thanks in advance 😃

Can’t help with garage. But what is the problem and symptoms?

If just noise whilst moving, it could just be a stone between the brake disc backing plate and the disc?

This can give a horrendous scraping sound. Often sorted by a long reverse, if that doesn’t work poke the brake disc backing plate with something long and thin enough to go through holes in wheel. Such a wooden kitchen spoon handle.

Symptoms are loud droning/hum which is louder when accelerating, worse when turning left, sound disappears when turning right.
Just jacked up the van and checked all the wheels, both back wheels have a bit of grating when turned a bit of play but barely anything tbh.

Sounds more like a drive shaft problem than wheels ….🤔

Does sound like wheel bearing and certainly worth getting it properly checked out 👍🏻👍🏻

That's a pretty good description of wheel bearing wear symptoms. How many miles since it started and how many until you get home?

Well hats off to M&B cars in Vendôme who happily saw us at 8.30 this morning had us a new wheel bearing fitted and new brake pads ( on our list to do when we got home anyway) and we were back on the road by 2.30. They were so helpful couldn’t fault their service. Van is running lovely now 🙌
