Heat the glue with an air dryer and you should be able to wipe it off. A little WD40 on a rag may help. Then be sure to wash the WD40 residue off.👍

I always use brake cleaner on a cloth to remove old gaffer tape glue residue. It's what we used in the car spray shop as it does not attack painted surfaces or rubber seals.
Hold the cloth with the brake cleaner on it on the area of the glue for a minute before attempting to wipe it off as the brake cleaner will soften the glue making it easier to wipe off.

WD40 damages acrylic so ensure that the acrylic is cleaned thoroughly immediately after use.

Bang one of these into a drill and whizz away! Absolutely brilliant things. I use them on my motorhome. Leaves no residue whatsoever. No need for any sort of chemical remover. Doesn’t mark the bodywork at all.

TIRDITY Decal Adhesive Remover, 4 Inches with Drill Adapter, Suitable for Vinyl Decals, Adhesives, Pinstripes and Sticker Removal Tools on Cars, Trucks, RVs and Windows https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07QYV3S6B/?tag=mhf04-21

And throw away that cheap duct/duck/gorilla tape and get yourself some proper Gaffer tape. That will not reave a residue unless left in place for ages and provided you remove it by pulling back slowly at in excess of 90 degrees.

We had a leaking window last summer during some heavy rain and then very hot weather. I had done a temporary repair with something much stickier than gaffer tape (Tear-Aid). When I came to do the repair some time later the only thing that removed the baked-on glue residue was nail varnish remover that contained 98% acetone (Superdrug).

We bought a MH that had "artwork" applied to the Polyplastic windows which we wanted to remove.

I was apprehensive about going for the big guns and somebody recommended meths.

It took a while but NO effect on the windows.

Thanks - I need to get a couple of stickers off windows and have been hesitating. Will give meths a go.

Brake cleaner - it's a solvent but doesn't stain.
By an aerosol can from Halfords

White spirit is as good as anything else I have used 😊
Another vote for white spirit. It can leave a slightly oily residue but you can remove that with contact cleaner.

At the end of the day it is always better to replace the seal. Mastic will stop it for a while but if the seal is getting old or has degraded in the sun, replace it.

Are these recommended gaffer tape glue removers OK for a PVC? ie would you use them on your car?

I tried everything, heat, WD40, meths, isopropanol, petrol. No success. Somewhat in desperation, I found some "sticky stuff remover" on Amazon. More in hope than expectation, I tried it and IT WORKS!
