Yep think it's a standard letter, regardless of what you askedhad a long reply in the negative ....no plans- costly to do -car parks small- no mention of using marinas tho I id specifically ask .. better luck everyone else
This is the answer I received from the Canal and River Trust:Just back from a week down south where we stopped close to a few canals, we find them ideal for cycling and walking. Anyway on to my point, while out cycling from Bugsworth to Marple locks we stopped to chat with some workers and thanked them for keeping the paths good. We then suggested they should look into allowing MHs to stay the night at some of their marina's, one of the guys mentioned they had started up a new work group to come up with money making ideas and suggested we email.
I’m thinking if a good few from here email them telling them how good it would be if MHs could stay a night or two. They already have everything we’d need there for the barges so shouldn’t cost much.

I’ve done it and mentioned the success of the Kelpies and the Falkirk Wheel.
Go on what have we got to lose we could spend 5 minutes in the hope it works, in the other hand we could do the same as the grumpy funster I met yesterday who just moaned and said “typical of the U.K.” nice meeting you to grumpy
Think that’s a non starter try getting permission for kayaking on rivers .This is the answer I received from the Canal and River Trust:
Thank you for taking the time to write to us with your suggestion that the Trust provides paid for overnight parking for motorhomes at Trust owned car parks. Unfortunately, the Trust has no plans to do so.
What seems a straightforward proposition would, in fact, be complicated and costly to arrange, administer and enforce. There are many things to consider in managing the Trust’s estate, that which is set aside for car parks being no exception.
Our car park estate is actually quite small with only a handful of car parks of any size within our ownership or control, the main use being to allow access to our waterways. In some cases they are already subject to existing agreements with third parties. Provision of additional services and establishing further third party agreements are not something the Trust is considering at this time.
Thanks again for the suggestion, of course - we are acutely aware of the financial impact of the pandemic and continue to do everything we can to secure our major sources of income. If we can be of any further help please drop us a line or contact on the number below.
So pretty much a non-starter. I have tried approaching sailing clubs and marinas with similar results at the individual location level.
Oh well its better to have tried something and not succeed than not to try at all. This is the answer I received from the Canal and River Trust:

You would have thought so but sadly as a member there are not as many places you can paddle as you think there are.For Kayaking. Join the British Canoe Club, minimal price and allows access to many rivers and canals (or used to a few years ago)
