That's a real nice Museum , what surprised me the most was the exhibits showing the actual costumes worn by some of the old stars
talk about small people ! The food in the restaurant is pretty reasonable as well . :D

There is a nice Stellplatze at the Swimbad , also the sister Museum at Speyer is good , with a stellplatze attached to the hotel on site .

I think if we go to Speyer we will stay on the stellplatz as we have been in Sinsheim all day and still not done it all, another years though,

Costumes!! like this you mean?

Did you know that's where the saying "straight laced" comes from, a proper lady would take a bit more getting into because of her "straight lacing" the criss cross lacing preferred by ladies of the night is a lot easier(y)

The costumes may be at Speyer , they were the actual ones worn by Sammy Davis junior, Marlene Dietrich, Monroe etc . there is also a Munch Mammut motorcycle collection there IIRC .
Coords for Speyer stellplatze is 49.312205 8.450084 , and you go into Hotel reception for
booking in :)

I love sinsheim. For those that don't know, concord and Concordski are on the roof, fantastic view.
Martin, did you notice the toilet in concord? Looks a bit like a thetford?

Just had a nice drive to Saarburg, little bit of rain and a lovely “umleitung” through some lovely B roads, cracking Stellplatz with a litter cafe for take away,

Oh dear, its wall to wall sunshine here has been for the last 10 days .(y)

Hope our greenhouse watering system is working

Martin
Our 3 large rainwater barrels have run out and we are now using water from the waste pipes from shower and kitchen. As a last resort we may have to use tapwater directly.:(
Keep the pictures coming, rain or shine .(y)

A bit of exercise today,

Somebody thought it would be a good idea to cycle up to the viewpoint,

So 22 miles later, and just for the record it was a stupid idea, but a bloody good view(y)

Yes we took the tandem, and no electric.

@funflair Like others on here, I'm really enjoying reading this thread. Keep it coming.

Thanks(y) but sadly there won't be much more as we have to head home starting today with an overnight in Belgium near Namur.

This is a cracking little stellplatz that we are on at Saarburg site code 953 on campercontact, it's right by the river for €10 per night, it has a bar and a little cafe that sells huge pieces of cake, the town is not far away and has a couple of museums that we will have to do another time, there is a little town upstream with a few factory outlet shops and a Villeroy and Bosch museum which is supposed to be very good but again we have run out of time. Then of course there is the "viewpoint" up the hill which would be accessible by bus I am sure.

OK this is a couple of days ago but didn't get reported,

There is a chair lift that takes you up the hill above the vines and you can walk back down or come back the same way, Mrs funfair says "we should do that while we are here" I think "Oooo you are getting brave" so a couple of € later we have a one way ticket,

And then she say's I don't know why I suggested this:LOL: Oops too late.

No13 is just for bikes(y)

Thats the walk back down to the town, and to the right a little toboggan run, You can see the stellplatz in the centre of the picture to the left side of the river and the old town in the foreground.

Yes, we've stayed at that Stellplatz at Saarburg a couple of times Martin & Jen. There used to be a Lidl further along the riverside path, but it relocated.

Han Sur Lesse is a lovely Aire, just south of Namur, and about 5 x minutes drive off the Autoroute. Matey from the local campsite comes round to collect the fee, and returns regularly to catch the French before they can shoot off without paying.

Safe journey back up the road. (y)

Cheers,

Jock & Rita. :)

Hi Jock

Thanks for that, looks good(y) we had pinpointed Dinant but might change our minds, is it OK for big vans as we bumped into Kaye and Dave with the Concorde.

As far as I can remember Martin, but there is a coach park to the left of the Aire anyway, if needed. (y) We usually try to park on the part of the Aire closest to the field. Free WiFi close to the Tourist Office. ;)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

So Luxembourg has been and gone,

Filled with Diesel €1.13 I put in Excellium at €1.23, checked MPG @22 and 22.4 last time(y)

These guys are making the most of it with a couple of 40 litre drums in the back,

In Belgium now and didn’t even feel the bump so the roads must be getting better, heading for Jock’ Aire.
