Fridge won’t ignite on gas

Have seen this many times on vans over the years. Because it is difficult to access the lower back of the fridge, it does not get serviced till things start breaking down. This means the the flue gets sooted up and ash builds up around the burner. Then it can't light, but keeps trying

Really is a stupid idea fitting a fridge in such a way that makes servicing near impossible

The red arrow and writing was all my own work😊
Thanks again ‘Funsters’ for your excellent advice and I will look at removing the fridge maybe tomorrow to see what I need to purchase. My impulse is to get a thermocouple and igniter assembly and carefully clean the jet.
I am intending to put the camper up for sale once I have sorted the fridge and the problem I have with the wipers as we imported it 20 years ago and my wife wants to move onto more relaxing holidays now we are both 75 (her words not mine!)
Out of interest is there any other ‘Old Salts’ from the RN out there?

SITREP. well I finally picked up
Courage and removed the rear bumper/ light housing to get at the bottom access grill for the fridge (Not an easy five minute task) and could see nothing that stood out as a fault! I therefore gave the whole area around the jet/burner a clean with a soft brush and a good Hoover and hey presto the fridge lit on gas straight away!😀
Having tested the system numerous times successfully over the next few days I rebuilt the lower back end of the van and it continues to light straight away.
Thank you therefore Funsters for all your help and advice it is very much appreciated.

Did you take the opportunity to brush through the flue as you had it open?

Yes, I did have a go at cleaning the flue as best as I could due to the limited access at both ends but only got a small amount of soot out so hopefully it won’t be a problem!
