Hi .I have an old 2002 Avantgarde 400 Rl MH , and when I use the mixer tap there is a leak somewhere which I can see the water dripping down outside ,I have looked inside the vents outside but cannot gain access to the taps that way ,and cannot remove sink as it is flanged under the worktop ,it is looking like the fridge needs to be removed? has anyone come across this problem before that has any advice on this please (y)

Yes , just warm pipe up and push on, you wouldn’t need the silicone grease.

Just want to make sure you are aware. If you take out the fridge, it needs to be sealed at the back to prevent any fumes from the gas burner entering the habitation area. Often simply compressed foam along the edges, but you need to check it seals all round, and make good any damaged area.

Hi EuroTrotters ,thanks for replying (y)did you ever remove your fridge ,if so would be grateful for any tips on its removal .I'm just trying to gather as much info on this before I attempt its removal ,its either that or trying to take the plate out to gain access to the tap, which believe will need bending back to shape afterwards and will require taping up afterwards to draught proof it again .(y)

I did the removal with my 2003 avantgarde 300 you do not disturb the fridge and you can tape up the plate after to stop all the drafts entering
Hi Kingalbi (y)you were spot on with what you said ,however I have took the fridge out to give it a good clean and service ,I did have to drop the waste from the sink as it wouldn't pass it ,when you tape the plate up again is there any tape you would recommend ?and thanks again for your help(y)

The story so far ............ well after removing the fridge and plate ,it looks like the red tail had come out of the tap , even tho the green locking pin was still in ? is that a usual scenario ?I hope to provide photos later when my little digi cameras battery has charged up ,gave up with the 🤬iphone and bleeding iTunes etc .
Hopefully this will help others with a leaky tap on an old avantgarde motorhome ,thanks to this forum I know that you don't have to remove fridge to get at taps after all (y)

That's the kind of thing that happens if water freezes inside the tap or pipes. If you're lucky it just pushes joints apart. If you're not, it splits the tap.

Hi is it worth replacing the tails in this case just in case they are worn?(y)also do you have to put inserts into the ends of the red and blue pipes like the john guest stuff ?(y)

The pin looks ok in your photo and maybe the red spigot wasn’t in correctly, a little silicone grease would help fit them.
You could replace spigots just to be sure

Well whilst waiting for some new push fit joints and tails ,when pulling the fridge out I must of dislodged something on the 240v side ,while the fridge is still half out waiting for bits needed ,when I turn the fridge on via the green switch ,it trips the rcd in the MH and also in the shed and the house

Leave the power off and check this cable, there's bare wires showing and the red looks like it's a just a sleeve,if that's the 240v supply😳
