Just back from a few days in the van. Very pleased with the insulation mods I have made. The van held the heat very very well. Insulation for the two skylights, side windows and back door (thats a game changer). But i could not believe the gale thats was blowing under the fridge. I assume this is coming in from the outside vents. Is there anything i can do or get to reduce this. I was off grid so using the fridge on gas.

Surely the fridge gas jet should be entirely insulated from the interior of the van, using the fridge vents for air in and fumes out? If it's not and the wind is on that side of the van you risk carbon monoxide poisoning. I hope you have a properly mounted and current CO alarm?

Fridge has not been installed properly and it dangerous, you could end up with carbon dioxide in the van.
You need to seal the around the rear of the fridge, there shouldn't be any draughts.

Seal round the back of the fridge. Look up "armaflex tape" you can stick it on the sides of the fridge so it wedges in better if there's a gap.

I had the same issue on a Brand New €75,000 August 2014 (now starting at €170,000) La Strada Nova from Alan Kerr motorhomes.

Registration WF13XPC

I ended up having to completely remove fridge and carry out several modifications to resolve the issue. Slightest breeze was felt like a Gale .

I am totally shocked and stunned
That a motorhome of that quality could be allowed to leave factory like that...
Is this the norm for that model or is this a one of??

They all left the factory like that.

Alan Kerr Had Three, we bought one and I have seen one of the others parked up in Javea.

Below is a Photo of our changeover day, I miss the Big Frankia sometimes

I believe it’s carbon monoxide you need to be more worried about. It’s odorless and colourless but deadly.

Wee update. The fridge was sealed on three sides. The dealer has now fitted a seal along the bottom of the fridge. So all good. Thank you so much for the advice..
