Fresh water filling

Arriving on a site without water is what caravanners do isn't it.. Off with thier roll along water thingy, then an hour or so building their little encampment.. 😁.

And comparing fuel consumption.. Really?

It does amuse me that after centuries of civilisation and several generations of not having to visit a well for water, we all think a holiday is defined by going to stay in a field where there is no running water and spending our time finding it. (But I do include standing about whilst the motorhome on board tank fills, in that observation!)

The replies are always the same.

If loading isn’t a concern carry as much fresh water as possible.

If loading is a concern (and it is for some folk) carry what you can.

Yep, bottled water for drinking for us too. The white water tank is for washing and showering.
Likewise we never drink the on board water but carry a 10 litre plastic container ( this only used for cooking and drinks )

We always just drink water from the tank it did after all come from the same tap as we drink at home.

Even when you are in mainland Europe, that's some achievement.

A full tank lasts the first week. After that just drink whatever comes out of the filling up tap. We haven’t died yet.😂😂

We live near the North Downs. Water is stored in aquifers, not reservoirs, and all you can taste is chalk. Makes nasty tea so we drink bottled water.
