In the Uk that went long ago.quite common here, they operate on pennies or points of pennies margin as a loss leader AFAIK
You can't run a business on a 1p margin.The garages make a penny if they are lucky
1,55 € here. .all the repsol & cepsa prices ,like you are quoting, are discounted using their Apps to at or below 1,55€.Bit less in Spain around 1.72 euro.

Travelled through Holland, Germany and France to get to Spain. All three countries were pretty much the same price at around 1.85 - €1.95 € litre. As I reported a few weeks ago .So what is the current price for deisel in France and Spain.?

They make/have made plenty of money from them.Given the retailers margin is so small it will probably make hardly any difference to the price. It's the same with the profit they make in general I saw an article this week about Aldi I think their profit margin was less than 2% hardly this huge retail rip off that some keep going on about.
