French and German emissions stickers display the vehicle number and can only be used on on a vehicle displaying that number.
Having said that very often the writing /printing fades in the sun so isn't readable after a few years. That applies especially to the Berlin issued German ones as they are often hand written with a not so permanent marker pen.

The French and German stickers only last the life of the windscreen, the number plate or the sun fading.
Whichever comes first!

They only cost a few quid to renew, so I'd simply order a new pair.

They can take 2-3 weeks to arrive, so don't leave it to the last moment.
Get them now, whilst we are 'out of season'.

On 4th van so not a total newbie....
I stuck ours to stretched cling film, then fitted into a tax disc holder so it is removable/transferable to a new windscreen, as we seem to get through one every few years.
