French Aires

I think the same thing exists in the UK, where they are known as “Disc zones”, IIRC?

Perhaps it's something I'm doing wrong but despite subscribing to Campercontact I am increasingly finding places that are closed down, poor and inaccurate co ordinates and reviews only up to late 2017 or early 2018 and some reviews that are totally inaccurate. Also agree with others that park4night has some led than suitable Spanish locations. Would be grateful for any guidance.

With campercontact have you downloaded the latest version of the app? Also have you updated the data? Finally, on the top right of the main screen does it say "full version active"?

Yes to each, I'm beginning to think it's me or my tablet. Thank you for the suggestions. I will double check just to be sure.

@pjay Same scheme as France and I believe you can use the same clock as France (but please verify that) @peterc10 Easily confused .. welcome to my world. The blue patking bays tend to be in town centres where parking is limited, idea is that one can do shopping etc but not stay there all day. You can get them at the Maries or simply using the link in post 13

What are the normal bay lengths? Our MH is 7m. Would we be allowed? How strict are the French or Dutch on overhang?

One thing with Campercontact app is it limits the GPS applications that can be used to guide you to a particular site. My preferred one is Copilot but it's not listed.

With off-line (i.e. no internet connection) apps it can use TomTom and Navigon for iOS devices and TomTom, Navigon and Sygic for Android devices. In addition it can use Apple Maps or Google Maps if you have internet. I use Sygic on my Android device and it works well with that.

Again I agree with all of that, but, if you have techno problems the books a good back up, not everyone is techno savvy either but I think we can all read

From what I remember the parking bays are standard car sized bays, they are normally in town, village centres so are meant to aid parking for quick visits to shops/banks/dentists etc hence the time restrictions, you may be lucky and find bigger ones, but not sure, our mh is 7.1m and I wouldn't try park in a standard car bay and taking up more than one bay would, I think, almost certainly result in a fine.
