Freight Queues for 5 miles For the Tunnel on Tuesday.

I remember those far off days too, no supermarkets, no shopping centres, no tomatoes in the winter etc.........no consumerism on the scale of today
I also remember turning up at Dover with a slight mistake on the T form, fortunately at that time their was an abundance of agents in Dover able to modify and re serve the form, only caused a delay of 3 hours or so!
I think the term " seasonal fruit " is still on most menu's, so that,s one piece of paper we won't have to change!!

I am still totally baffled how we have been reading all the info we have had at our disposal for 5 years, we have been fed with facts kindly supplied by members on here to back up any incorrect info posted ( when allowed ), we all must know by now, if it affects your lives which, I would say is all of us. What amazes me is how some think it's all so simple and nothing is going to change. you must have gross amounts of ear wax or nothing between your ears. Oh and blind as well of course.
Not scaremongering just readable facts and peoples experience of a lifetime. Meant Kindly and factually not aggressively Yours Bruce. I think I have had it for now, I'm off to bed

Back in 1999 there was a huge effort by iIT companies to upgrade firmware and software plus system checks which is why there was no issues with the millennium bug. I am sure others on here may recall or been involved in such efforts.
Your absolutely correct. I was involved in those efforts.i get pretty tired of the there was not bug. Hell yes there was and because of tremendous efforts it didn't cause a catastrophe by midnight Dec 31st. Thanks for pointing it out.,👍

Well we went to Europe by car/campervan/motorbike before the EU even existed. If it was possible then it's 100% possible from now on!
True.

I have cine film of my father's car being craned into the hold of a ship at Dover.
I think they could take 20 cars (no lorries) per trip.
There were 2 ships in the winter and 4 in the summer on the Dover/Calais run
Most people arrived by train and were foot passengers in those days, upto 200 passengers per run!

The volume of passengers, passenger vehicles, & freight vehicles has increased multifold since the formation of the EU/EEC.

Don't worry we will have a trade deal with Zero tariffs and none of this will be relevant, then everyone (press especially) can complain about the waste of money spent on all these preparations for sabre rattling!
My November post in this thread. Anyone want to buy a used Crystal Ball?

"none of this will be relevant"

Zero tariffs doesn't mean zero customs formalities!
