You can’t use a data sim in a phone or a phone sim in a dongle, big brother is watching and knows!

However, Vodafone is the best in Europe (imho) and you can use all your uk allowance in France. Don’t panic ! There’s always MaccyD’s

Never tried a phone sim in a dongle but Three data sims work in a phone.

this has been made much worse by my thinking I had found a real deal, bought a sim only with 30Gb data, wont work, turns out three can tell whether its used in phone or mifi

waste of £22, but even the data only cards have really jumped in price, Bev bought a 12Gb card from 3 for £40 before we left, these used to be £22 last year

Have a read here about logging into FON in France read about thee quarters down the page.

Having said that I have found the the operators change the front page of their log-in screen and finding the link to the 'partner operators' log-in screen gets moved and is not obvious. Don't be fooled into logging in in the obvious place on the screen, that is usually the access to the main provider. Search out the link to partner operators or similar wording. You may find that you have to use your BT email address and password even though if using FON in the UK you can log in using an email address that you have told BT is your preference.

If you have a Vodafone phone with their sim in it can you not use that and tether to it?
I use my phone and tether either of our iPads or a laptop to it. The Vodafone service in France is excellent and you can use all of your data package as if you are in the UK.
