Free beachfront stops in rural Spain anyone?

W enjoy cruising and watching the scenery from our large panoramic windscreen: we prefer not to pay for overnight stays ;) .
A few years ago we headed via a circuitous route to Murcia (IKEA) then to Cabo de Palos. There were several places on La manga strip close to the beaches and also on the western side of the Mar Menor. We were pleased with a front row placement at La Azohia until a storm blew in and sand blasted the paintwork .
Huercal-Overa is inland but has a nice aire with facilities.
At Vera Playa I parked on the edge of the beach but someone reminded me that it would work out expensive if the police arrived. We explored several spots along the coast which could be suitable but ended up at La Fabriquila, near Cabo de Gata.
The big car park at Roquetas de Mar was BIG and crowded but Serena Playa, a couple of miles south-west was almost deserted. We stayed in some grounds belonging to a deserted hotel on the SW of Motril.
When we lived in Marbella, many folk stayed at La Cala de Mijas but there were lots of other spots available. Seek (or use some apps) and ye shall find.
ENJOY!

Playa de Agua Amarga Alicante on the left and Urbanova to the right Sandy ( A bit rocky on the water line)Park up by the beach for lunch, very nice for picnic or a swim, just got to watch out for the sea weed, seems a few vans park here over night, but we didn't risk it, there is overnite parking just down the road (500m) on the out skirts of Urbanova.

Well over 100 there last weekend, some expensive motors too. Everyone seemed to be behaving themself, saw no signs of rubbish, dumping or washing out.

We have no issue with paying but we do want a view and all the alternatives are either surrounded by polytunnels or fences.

It's a long while since I've been to Gib BUT I recall that the route to Morrisons (UK foods, cheap fuel) was quite reasonable.
I think it's how the border staff are feeling I have been there when there can't be bothered and when they search everyone and confiscate what they can

There are lots but it does depend on time of year, there's a lot of stops that are tolerated in low season but enforced june to September etc. Tarifa beach is a case in point where the height barriers go up.

Weve just had a few days on the Beach at Vera with about 100 other Mhs but wouldn't expect to get away with it in Summer.
Generally, it's fine at Vera as long as you don't occupy car parking spaces on the beach front overlooking the sea.Least ways that's what we found last summer.
Mike.
