I've been in Avignon since Saturday..what a beautiful place, campsite is on the opposite bank of the Rhone.

A few years ago now we stayed on the aire by the sports stadium. Decent enough, huge supermarket across the road, close to town. There was a market in the town which was good as well.

I'm sure I was reading that the MS marking was the precursor to the 3 peaks and is still valid until 23 or maybe even 24 by which time they should have been replaced.

In Germany the date you can use M&S tyres until depends on the year of manufacture, don't know about France.
If in doubt for France just take snow chains.

I'm due to change tyres so should I go for 3 Peaks rather than just M&S? Given my advancing years, these may be my last set so the question is what to go for? As I use a lot of CLs, perhaps BF Goodrich or something more mainstream and preferably not exorbitantly expensive?

Filled up at Carrefour Sete ...well about 25€.. there was no notice on pump so assume no restrictions.
