I can thoroughly recommend The Robert Hoon Thrillers, by JD Kirk. There are five of them.
They are definitely thrilling, they're funny, sad and stupid; sometimes all at the same time. As an Englishman, I found them superb, if you're Scottish you'll probably like Hoon even more

All on my kindle but I listened to a couple of the books on Audible while out with my dog, the narrator is Scottish too, and far too often my dog would look at me sideways as I stopped and giggled out loud.

Want some holiday reading and don't blush too easily? Settle down with Bob Hoon, you'll love it. Well I did.

My lad has been offered a post in Edinburgh. I told him to watch Rab C Nesbit to get some idea of the accent.
If you can understand a strong Glaswegian accent you can understand anything

Good first few chapters. And even better that they’re on Kindle Unlimited.
Thanks for the tip.

I've read all of the Hoon books and the DCI Logan books (which I read first) They were by far the best books I've read in a long time. They made me laugh out loud at times.

Many years ago whilst working offshore and Rab C Nesbit was on tv I used to have to ask my Scottish co worker to interpret some of the things he said, I worked with a few broad aberdonians as well who were impossible to understand.😂

Don't be silly, Gaffer!xroll:

What Scot in their real mind will be spending nigh on sixteen quids worth of booze money on five books!xroll:
Absolutely...

True Scot that I am, I've reserved the first three audiobooks on BorrowBox (for free !!)
