Hi all, spot of bother here and hoping for any ideas, help, suggestions! I'm at the forest of dean and just bust my shoulder mountain biking with my 2 sons. Off to A and E now but won't be able to drive. It's a 3.5 tonne 7.3 m long lhd rimor seal 50.

Need to get it and the kids back to just north of Brighton. Happy to pay anyone who could drive it back. Or are there companies that help with this sort of thing?

Realistically looking at this evening or tomorrow.

On my insurance I am the only one insured for the motorhome. If I fell off my bike and could not drive the insurance get a driver or recovery. If the wife was on the insurance she would have to drive. She is not confident to drive it so we took her off for that reason.

Thank you Silver-Fox that's incredibly kind. I think we might have a recovery truck already on way. Keep you posted

No worries dude.

Just keep me upto date if help is required.

Hope the drugs are working ok 👍

Yes, never add someone to the policy if they will not drive the vehicle. People have been caught out by this before.

That is exactly our situation, ie, whilst qualified, Rita wouldn't be confident driving our large MH, hence her not on the insurance.

Vintner. Best wishes getting sorted with the recovery of your MH, and with your recovery from your injuries. 👍

It really is great too see so many offers of help from fellow Funsters, one way or another, but being in East Anglia, we are sadly not in a position to help you at all. 😢

Cheers,

Jock. :)

It must be the place! Bust my collarbone mountain biking in the FOD a few weeks ago 😡
It's not even my first A and E trip following a visit to FOD!

We travel with friends his son is on the insurance, but it would be a nightmare if they were abroad, lovely wife is 3-4 inches shorter than me and a nervous driver.
I still do more of the driving than John though he does do more now we have the semiautomatic.
Thing is it is usually cheaper if you put a second driver on, no idea why. (Insurance)

But the second driver does not have to be your other half. My dad 82 put me on as a named driver his insurance went down by 35%. Not that I would be able to drive it much I liv Devon he lives Essex. Note I was the second driver it was his policy. Not as some do mum or dad gets the insurance in their name and then the son or daughter is a named driver to get cheaper insurance but the polocy should be held by the main driver.

My wife was able to drive ours back from the FOD. She has barely driven it and we were only talking about this very subject of insured drivers and recovery a week before my fall. We have a 7.5m A class, and were due off to Germany 2 weeks later with some friends with their van for their first trip abroad. Fair play, the boss said she wasn’t cancelling and drove to the ferry at Harwich, over as far as Edderse/Willingen and back via Eifel finishing at Ypres before the tunnel and long drive back up to the midlands. She did really well!,
