WANTED for sprinter

Just read through you post again. You said you disconnected the battery as you had no Gearbox Display.

This is basic check.

Ok, so if you did have the display.

When ign or engine running. When you press brake pedal and put in gear, does the N display Flash ?.
Do the brake lights work !.

Brake light switch needs to work so ECU knows to select a gear.

As gearchanges are fly by wire, the gearstick may be faulty. These are easy to take out and check connections.

Just checked ours and the relay for hyd pump, under steering clicks in approx 30/40 seconds on tick over.

Update......
Van recovered to Mercedes in Carlisle yesterday, I called at lunchtime today and it wasn't even in the workshop!
Got a call at 5 o'clock, van ready, what was it? I asked "a relay" was the reply. Not sure which one , will find out when I pick it up tomorrow.

Picked van up today, asked which relay was replaced and told it WAS the one under the seat, ie the Sprintshift relay, so I suppose my test wasn't very accurate. I have only a cheap multi-meter, obviously not very accurate.
At least back on the road!

Hi well done Dave I got rapido on a Mercedes same gear box what year was yours mine is 2004 I think I get spare relays was the bill not to bad? Andy
