Just read through you post again. You said you disconnected the battery as you had no Gearbox Display.
This is basic check.
Ok, so if you did have the display.
When ign or engine running. When you press brake pedal and put in gear, does the N display Flash ?.
Do the brake lights work !.
Brake light switch needs to work so ECU knows to select a gear.
As gearchanges are fly by wire, the gearstick may be faulty. These are easy to take out and check connections.
Just checked ours and the relay for hyd pump, under steering clicks in approx 30/40 seconds on tick over.
