Fogstar use EVE cells (they are the main importers for EVE) they also have a heat pad built in. When I get the new van I was going to build my own battery using EVE cells but its cheaper to buy one of their batteries.

Just comparing KS Energy with Fogstar 300ah lipo.
KS = 33Kg
Fogstar = 26Kg

That seems quite a difference in the world of batteries? Do you know why it would be so different?

Two on Tour might have an idea Paul uses EVE cells

Some LifePo4 batteries are constructed using multiple 18650 type cells

while others are constructed using prismatic cells as I have used to construct my battery pack.

It's likely that the extra surface area of the casings and spacers of the multiple cell battery is adding the extra weight plus the may well be a weight differance in the outer casing that the cells are housed in that the two manufactures are using.

Have you got Fogstar batteries Lenny. I am currently looking at options for Lithium.

I had a great chat with them yesterday and the lady seemed to know her stuff for sure. The lady answered my questions about battery heating being automatic (it is), time till empty on the app (it does show this), auto reset on overload (it does) and a few other silly questions I had. Very tempted to get the 280ah jobbie to replace our 2x 85ah units and with the discount it is a very keen price. This is their first entry into leisure batteries and they seem keen as mustard to make an entrance, she even has a T5 so she knows a bit about van life. With the current energy costs I may well go for the battery and then feed into the house to use the daily power gained from the solar. Use it or loose it as they say...

No wonder i couldn't get through ... only joking as i also had a chat with them yesterday regarding their batteries ! I also got the same impression that they were helpful and knowledgeable. My order is already in!

Isn't that a 300Ah single cell? You wire up
4 of them in series to make a battery with the voltage we need got Moho use... Which brings the price more inline with what you'd expect.

Just ordered a 300ah battery from Fogstar with a 15% discount code available for all MHF members. Contact them if you need to the code as I am unable to put it in the Discount Code section.

It's just standard blurb to cover all their batteries, LiFeP04 batteries are far safer than other types of Lithium.

There is a bit of a pattern in the codes... OCTOBER21 now gives 15% off :)

Just got the 100Ah battery for £365.50 delivered. Worth a shot at that price.

cheers,

Robin

I can’t see where to input the discount code ? Can anyone help please ?

Edit
Found it 😂

Yep, top-right if I remember correctly.

I checked with them this morning because I couldn't spot any information about the type of terminals and the pictures were not 100% clear. Anyway, I got a fast response - the terminals are M 8 threads and they include a pair of mate copper bolts.

cheers,

Robin

I’ve still not pushed the button on this order yet .
I wasn’t going to purchase a different battery manufacturers lithium product as I thought it was best to keep everything exactly the same . Apparently this isn’t the case with LiFePO4 so will it be ok to “ mix “ one of these Fogstar batteries with my existing Ultramax LiFePO4? The price difference is about £65 between the two batteries as the Fogstar are currently on special offer . I am not in a major rush . Any thoughts ?

Is that with the 15% discount??

Started my battery swap using a Fogstar 300ah battery. I replaced two 130ah
I collected the battery and it was well packaged - it came with threaded terminals so I have ordered a couple of standard posts to arrive tomorrow so I dont need to change the battery connections - I prefer the clip on/clip off types.

For a size comparison

IMG_20221022_110749.jpg

Slightly bigger than one of the 130A batteries and lighter than them in total. I did like the handles on the new battery - really useful for lifting and manoeuvring as you can take the weight in both hands, making it so much easier.

Sorry to be a pain MisterB . Do you have a picture or link of the posts you ordered for the battery . Wanted to see what they look like 👍🏻
