Fleurette

My thinking for any van is, if the problem/issue/defect is only a few quids worth why would one bother with the warranty.
I will evaluate if it's worth going through all the shit they throw at you to get an issue fixed, In my case it would be about £150/200, under that i will sort it myself.

The dealer network can always be a worry especially with those trading in the unknown brands.

We bought our MY19 Globecar at a time when there were 7 UK national dealers in existance but now there's only 3 motorhome dealers trading in Globies following a collapse of the network (and that's including the addition of a new one openeing up in the last 12-14 months).
I know that one of the dealers gave up the franchise as whilst they were more than happy with the product they weren't prepared to take the aggro and lack of support they got from the official importing dealer (who all UK dealers had to buy through), this was in relation to all aspects of selling/maintaining/warranty etc as they were not allowed to contact Globecar direct.

We are going to HULL somewhere called South Cave (will we need to take our passports?)
No you won't need your passports as you won't be going into Hull so the city's border control won't be interested. :giggle:

'Hull.......at the very least you'll need a set of body armour and a ballistic helmet.

I went to Hull once - never again! :)
Just because it's 'Kingston upon Hull' (ie Kings town) doesn't mean that because you are a 'Knight' you can do what you want, not even if you were in shiny armour! The place is still recovering from what you got up to on your last visit and the now 'Blue' Nun!

Many years ago i went to Hull K R to watch Salford play them (is that the same place?). Ended up fighting all afternoon and missed the match. Mad buggers.
We have 2 rugby teams in Hull and that is one of them ... we don't take well to 'interlopers' as you found out!

You are safe Minxy Girl is in Scotland.
Are you sure ... ???
I know, that's why we are going tomorrow:ROFLMAO:
I've just heard that my brother has returned from Goathland, he's a karate black belt and so are his 3 daughters so you'd better be on your best behaviour if you do happen to try to 'slip' into Hull as I've forewarned them. >:)

Not many atheists in Hull. You're either Airlie Bird or Robin. When the two teams played each other in the RL Cup Final at Wembley I think there were just over 2000 for the Hull City football match the same day,

HRH and i are going to Wandahomes on Tuesday to look at Fleurette 74 LJS. And hopefully some other models they may have.
Any major reason why we shouldn't???
we pick up our fluerette magister 74mlf from wandahome south cave on 5th august .stunning quality

South Cave is actually quite a nice area. If you are going in the Motorhome and staying over, there is an excellent CL called Willow Pond. I posted some pics on 'Photo of the Day' last week. 👍
they have their own campsite ,might get a free stay.

That’s the same place !

Season ticket holder at Salford, been to hull for many a game, try to leave the fighting on the pitch.😅😅

I'm surprised that Globecar would give one importer exclusive UK distribution rights. Bad strategy. Hopefully, when that exclusive distribution contract expires it won't be renewed. I used to negotiate these things on behalf of a manufacturer. There was always some chancer demanding exclusive rights for a vast territory who generally turned out to be a one-man-band wanting to get a slice of the pie for no effort.

The importer didn't have 'exclusive' rights in the sense I think you mean, just that Globecar used them to 'manage' the UK arm so they only dealing directly with one UK company rather than several; from Globecar's point of view it would likely make perfect sense, just not great for the UK dealers at times.

That doesn't sound right. I can understand that situation only if Globecar has a UK subsidiary or UK sales manager who is employed directly by Globecar to oversee the UK dealers.

I am only stating what I have been told by the dealer concerned but know when we needed parts for our last Globecar which wasn't bought from the UK importer that there was an additional delay due to everything having to be done through them with no option for our dealer to go direct to Globecar HQ for updates, chivvy things up etc. I do know more of the history/background to all of this but am not prepared to say as I don't want to upset the person who was directly involved with their becoming the UK importer by doing so.

I went to a dealer in Hull, motorhomes and caravans M&c or something, to look at a used Arto, it was one of the worst condition motorhomes I have ever seen, shocking and filthy as well.
They should have been ashamed to have it on sale with major defects like that. You could see big gaps and outside light from the inside when looking at the side area of the dash, I still shudder now.
A few months later I noticed it was for sale at Scott motorhomes from Scotland??

That confirms my view. Anyway this discussion is just going round in circles now.
