The odometer on the speedo is flashing (the numbers that show the total KM travelled), I understand it is a communication problem between the vehicle and the head unit and I'm finding it impossible to get a slot at the local dealer so was wondering if anyone here had had the same and been able to fix it without having to use a Citroën diagnostic tool.

All the best.

You could try removing the starter battery negative connection for 5 mins. and see if it resets the system when re-connected .
I read that somewhere yesterday but I'm not at home right now and realised I have no spanners so can't try it yet. So that could work you think?

Barrie...we had a MH on a Citroen Jumper base vehicle....a few years ago...if it developed a minor engine fault, as it did...the Speedo stopped working as did the odometer and the amber engine warning light came on..
This happened in Spain and the second time in Italy....I was told that a driver might ignore an amber warning light...but wouldn't ignore a failed Speedo...had the engine light fault corrected...Speedo and odometer started working again....Just wondered if this is warning you of something..?

I was watching a YouTube video the other night about fried airbag modules. One of the symptoms of that was a flashing odometer! (as well as the airbag symbol)

Hope it isn't that(y)

Well that is a stupid bit of design!! I can think of several reasons why you might want to switch on the ignition (without starting the engine) while on an EHU e.g checking mileage when sorting insurance renewal online/checking lighting with an MOT due shortly.

Well everything else is working, the odometer too as it is counting the km, it's just flashing. No warning lights either.

No, I have no warning lights on, thanks for your input though.
If it is it is under guarantee as it is only a few months old
Yes it is, but I've not been able to get an appointment.

Sorry - not a solution to the problem but a question for you!

Looking at some adverts for the vans It looks like the shower door is split with a cupboard above and a door below. Is that correct? If so it's a clever use of the air space in the shower but could make showering a spectator sport?

Not on mine it isn't. I have the toilet and shower in separate rooms (well, spaces 😂)

Tried that just now but to no avail, the odometer is still flashing. Any more suggestions? or do I just take it to a Citroen dealer and hope they can do it?

Happy to help
A PROXI alignment with Multiecuscan should solve your problem.

The canbus is looking for the OEM radio, which you’ve removed As far as I’m aware it’s got to be done by a dealer to tell the canbus that you no longer have the factory fit radio.

Mine has been flashing for 3 years now after an airbag ECU change, local garage did it after Fiat and Peugeot specialists could not get the ecu tuned into my van🙈. It's not an MOT failure so I haven't bothered doing anything about it 😅 keep meaning to but not yet . I guess if it bothers you a main dealer can sort it hopefully.
Cheers Cris 🍻
