Tents, Folding camper,Hired MoHo, now bought our own.
Had a new radio fitted, didn't operate properly so eventually had it taken out money refunded and old one put back in.
Now mileage is flashing any thoughts please as to issue. Peugeot Boxer 2015.
Thanks.

The flashing mileage is the ECU's way of letting you know that something on the canbus isn't what it was expecting.

Normally, putting the old radio back in shouldn't cause you any issue - however it may be that as part of the installation of the radio you returned the fitters did some ECU coding that needs to be undone or the old radio may need to be coded back to the vehicle.

I would start by doing the quasi-masonic 'reset' of the system where you unplug the battery in whatever the sequence of things is. I seem to remember opening the driver's window then closing the doors and waiting 5 minutes while not sitting in the seats or doing anything that any of the vehicle sensors might notice and then disconnecting the battery and waiting another 5 minutes before reconnecting again.

It's something like that and I'm sure someone will be able to describe the procedure properly as I'm only half-remembering it.

If that doesn't work then I'd take it back to the installers and get them to fix it.

Found this if it's helpful.

It mentions removing any solar / other retro-fitted devices from the battery which I hadn't thought of (mine doesn't have any yet) but which makes perfect sense.

The new radio we had fitted didn't have this effect , pity it was a dreadful unit, I assume putting the old one back in as a factory unit it may be wired differently. This unit says DAB on the back but can't receive any dab channels,
Last time after air bag module went Peugeot in Wrexham charged £90 to do reset . Crappy original radio and £90 down . Live and learn. Thanks for the prompt responses folks.

That might just be down to the antenna.

My first attempt at a DAB install in a car was with one of those antennas that stick to the windscreen and it really wasn't good. I've heard from others with motorhomes (especially with the overhang at the front) that they just don't work for them.

I ended up taking all the headliner out and replacing the factory antenna with a similar looking DAB/FM one and hey presto perfect DAB signal everywhere.

I did the same to my Sprinter conversion and got the same excellent result.

The Relay came with factory fitted DAB, but I plan to have a second radio in the living area hooked up to the leisure system so will be adding a second antenna for that.

I can't fault my DAB windscreen aerial with a big overhang. Did you attach the earth to the cab frame?

It works well with the Kenwood DMX5020 I fitted.

I've never had a proper Motorhome so can't comment from personal experience but they came up in a thread (probably on here) and a few people said they'd had issues.

It's too long ago to remember if I earthed it to the vehicle or to the radio - must be six years or more ago.

All I do know is that the roof mounted DAB/FM antennas have worked reliably for me in three vehicles and the windscreen mounted ones have left a lot to be desired in the two vehicles I've had them in.
