Fitted new starter battery today and i am not getting any power charging any batteries to control panel.

Hi need some help Fitted new starter battery today jumped the van off yesterday I think I have blown a fuse somewhere as I am getting no charge to leisure batteries or engine showing on the panel when engine is running. Van is niesman bischoff flair 8000i 2004 fiat 2.8
 
Could be the fuse by the starter battery. Normally there's a 50A one on the main cable to the ebl or equivalent and a 20A one next to it for the fridge supply when driving. There may also be a 2A one for the control panel.
 
Hi thanks for confirming what I thought but I can't find the location of these fuses.
 
JockandRita might be able to help regarding location. I just have a cheap Hymer not a fancy Flair :giggle: :giggle:

I'd forgotten that. Geof. nicholsong might be able to help?
Mines a Merc and it's very obvious on the positive lead right beside the starter battery
 
Usually those fuses are in battery box🤔

Yes sussed it now I will sourse some fuses this week. Bloody awkward to fit though it took me 4 hrs to get the duff battery out and the new one in. I didn't realise the fuses were in the positive terminal fiat plate. That's next Saturday taken up. Thanks for advice.

Yes didn't realise the fuses were a part of this part. Just hoping I can get to fit them.
 
Surely if those midi fuses on the Fiat battery group had blown, you wouldn't have been able to start the van ?
There's usually a 50 amp maxi fuse and a standard 2 amp fuse near the leisure battery, I would check those out first, and maybe check that there isnt a wire/terminal that you've missed (for the leisure battery circuit) when you reconnected the main terminal plate, especially as you mentioned it was a bit of a mare ?

Hi yes it is odd the van started but no charging showing on the panel.
 
Hi which fuse protects the charging circuit. And what does the 50 amp fuse protect.
 
On my van, the 50amp fuse protects the thick charging wires to the leisure battery and I think the 2 amp fuse is part of the battery monitoring circuit ?
On my display, I have state of charge of the cab battery and the same for the leisure battery, it also displays how many amps are being fed into, or out of the LB and if I put the ignition on after a few days parked up, it will sometimes shows me that the LB is "helping out" the cab battery by feeding power to it, if it's a bit low,(my radio runs solely off the cab battery)
 
Is this any help. 50amp and 2 amp fuses circled in red. The yellow circle is the crash sensor

tonyandcarol. As well as the advice above re fuses near the battery, in the image below, if it's the same CBE distribution box, there is a fuse which seems to link the two batteries. The tiny icon looks like 2 x boxes connected by a single wire, (third in from the right). Have you checked that fuse?

Also, with the engine running and using a multi meter, check the voltages going to both the starter battery, and the leisure batteries If charging, they should be showing a reading of around 14.0v - 14.7v

Morning Jock, I think the fuse you refer to there is the one that will be linked to the CBE CSB-2 that charges the starter battery from excess habitation capacity, when it is charging the starter battery you will get the same symbol on the panel as opposed to the G symbol when the alternator is charging the habitation.

Hi have checked the fuses in the photo and they are OK. I will have to wait till Saturday to start on the battery again and check the fuses I will post some pics of the display on the panel which is odd it's displaying depleted starter battery but it's brand new.

Reset / Calibrate function on your controller maybe?

Update on issues
Everything is now working as it should I took the new starter battery off today and checked the fuses on the positive side on fiat thing with bolt on fuses there are 4 150 125 80 and 50 the 50 had blown changed it replaced battery and perfect. Tough job but very happy now. Thanks every one who posted there help you are fantastic.
