First weekend away this year aborted due to this … (2 Viewers)

We’ve had a bit of a bumpy ride this year culminating with mum dying in May and the ensuing house clearing and probate which will take months. So we were looking forward to our first wee weekend away this year to see our daughter in Aberdeenshire …
However a huge clang as we drove off proved to be caused by this …
I suppose we’re lucky it was only a weekend and it happened on the drive …

Oh, that's so bad. I'm so sorry. You know I can truly empathise with you, given all the problems we've had (many of which haven't even been documented on here). I really hope you can get this fixed soon and are able to get a different time when you can get away xx

It’s called rotten luck. As you say you was on your drive at least so could have been a lot more aggravation if halfway to your Daughters for instance. Here’s wishing for a speedy fix.

Yes, we’re looking at doing both sides and replace the dampers too. Just waiting for a date.

I can recommend Logan Vehicle services, he’s from Lanark but mobile and comes to you. He’s just carried out our service and I was very impressed with him and his workmanship, he’s also a motorhome/camper owner and does solar stuff.

How annoying However it is obvious and fixable. I hate the things that break/stop working (usually electrics) but you can't see/hear the fault and it takes ages to get a diagnosis. Good luck with the repair.

must admit newer ones do seem to be far more prone to snapping.

Probably a bit of both — we live down a track and most frequent use is up A9 and across to Torridon - fairly significant pot holes on that journey.
But I think the springs are probs my made cheaper now so more likely to fail.

Broke the front anti-roll bar on our Ducato based motorhome hitting a pothole on the A832. A very occasional clunking after this but couldn't find anything wrong.

Didn't realise that until taking it from passing it's MoT about 6 months later and hitting another water filled one a few hundred yards from the testing station giving a big clunk. Back round to them and they were gobsmacked as the crack was invisible and they only found it by a poor ring from it when hitting it with a hammer!

Yes tha A832 has some enormous potholes -,impossible to see when they’re full of water.
