Go to Kukenhof gardens in the spring what a beautiful show

Unfortunately we didn't have such luck, we went a few days after they opened for the year after a bad winter. Paid a fortune to see bare ground.

There are a lot of Dutch people in Holland - very nice but loads and loads of them as they love camping

I got mildly rebuked and given a geopolitical lecture by a Dutch lady in Dehli the other week. My crime during polite conversation making, which I didn’t really want to have as she plonked herself next to me, was to guess her accent as coming from Holland!!! Yes I know it’s the Netherland but ………… it spoiled my cup of chai.

Hi Guys
We've covered quite a bit of Europe but 2020 we'll explore Holland in our 8m motorhome with bikes on board.

Your recommendations please:-
Places you would defintely visit, but no cities or large towns.

Any really good campsites or Aires close to places to visit.

We are thinking about popping over mid February 2025.
It is a good few years since we have been to continental Europe with a MH - (2009??? that is way, way back!).
Is there anything major (apart from Brexit) which we should be aware of with regards to regulations, stickers, etc?
Spur of the moment thing, so we wouldn't want to suddenly find that we have transgressed the unwritten rule.
Netherlands only, we think, but may end up in Belgium for the day.

Apps, books, that sort of thing.

The OP and another 'question asker' seem to have not joined up as members, despite being given some good information that would probably have paid for the membership fees .... however that shouldnt stop us adding info as lots of members do searches, so here is some additional info from our trip last year. if you search my posts relating to Holland, you may find some more?

Giethoorn - everyone knows about Giethoorn and the only think I can add is avoid during weekends and summer periods. We walked part of the village in the afternoon and then took a guided boat tour @€10 each which we thought was well worth it. No point adding photos as you've all seem them, but...

This is lovely little site we've stayed at a couple of times. 10 min bike ride into the local village, 15mins to local town or about an hour into Utrecht (which is worth a visit).
