We used to have a house just outside figeac. Love the place. All good - doing a round robin of Emmaus shops in the area then west along the river towards Villeneuve sur Lot, stopping at the places you suggested. Overnight tonight at a lovely free Aire in the village of Capdenac Le Haut near Figeac.
Aaaah. I remember that thread now. No more Total garages in France for me thenThe French Fuel Company 'Total' place ban on filling LPG tanks on their forecourts in France.
Just been reading Le Monde du camping car, and if my French is correct (no guarantee) Total have banned the refilling of LPG tanks and cylinders unless the gas is used to run the engine, at all their filling stations. You can't fill if the gas is for domestic use...www.motorhomefun.co.uk
Not yesterday they weren't.....Total service stations in France have been refusing to fill motorhomes for a least the least the last18 months .
I've come across this in Italy on the motorway. The man said "not for cooking". My understanding of the explanation was there were different tax rates for gas used for "propulsion" and those used for domestic purposes - cooking.Autorisé uniquement pour la conduite!!,
so the man said!
They must have changed their minds or some stations dont care. There are many alternativesNot yesterday they weren't.....
Not as many as there were. We noticed that some fuel stations appear to be removing LPG pumps. They must have changed their minds or some stations dont care. There are many alternatives
There will be enough to see me out.Not as many as there were. We noticed that some fuel stations appear to be removing LPG pumps.
It is a growing issue for some. It will be a shame when even more shut; there are growing areas where no lpg is available and the situation is forcing folk to travel further to fill up.There will be enough to see me out.
I usually have two weeks to find somebody selling LPG - It's never been a worry .
I always fill up on my travels and myLPG.eu has never let me downIt is a growing issue for some. It will be a shame when even more shut; there are growing areas where no lpg is available and the situation is forcing folk to travel further to fill up.
No be able to sleep tonight...we need to fill up tomorrow...both Accurate Gaslow guages read empty. Hope I have enough to make a cuppa in the morning..

I was refused at Le clerc 4 years ago no mater what I said she refused point blank to turn on the pump. I was however filling from the locker at that time although I was on the opposite side from the booth and I didn't notice any camera. Here in Poland there are not many filling stations that do not have LPG.
It's illegal to fill hab tanks in Italy I got refused at the first one I stopped at on a motorway but the next one filled me..I've come across this in Italy on the motorway. But I thought this was unique to Italy but maybe France has introduced different rates?
In the Uk maybe but the opposite here in spain. Everyone is installing pumps. Not as many as there were. We noticed that some fuel stations appear to be removing LPG pumps.
It was in France this summer where we noticed the loss of lpg pumps as our app had several stations on that had been crossed out as lpg was no longer available. In the Uk maybe but the opposite here in spain. Everyone is installing pumps.
We have gone from 20 + years ago 1 in Murcia city centre & another near Granada to 4 within 3 miles of me installing pumps , No problem finding it here now & as Lenny HB said above also the law still is in force that prohibits anyone filling with it who is not a taxi or a public service vehicle.
I find with my gaslow guages, when they are at the bottom of the red sector and I fill up, there must have been 4-5ltrs left because I can never get more than 14 and a bit in to get the 18ltr cut-off.
God that is low sod that one big buMp and bang
Rest assured...I put 35litres in my combined cylinders this morning on a Cepsa service area...phew...I normally empty one cylinder then run the second for a day or two, sometimes a week, then source a re-fill....however I'm in total holiday mode...so I've let the standards slip a little...hence the PANIC situation this morning ( Actually I don't Panic, but quite often change into second gear) So...we have enough LPG or GPL to see our trip to an end...To be honest...we live in a fantastic apartment with stunning views...but I'm not ready to go home yet...every view through our motorhome windows are stunning.... I'll change my mind when the views are restricted by steaming rain, and no gas in the van...I find with my gaslow guages, when they are at the bottom of the red sector and I fill up, there must have been 4-5ltrs left because I can never get more than 14 and a bit in to get the 18ltr cut-off.
