Breaking from all the planning, worrying, and worrying to write my second free post and first question.

Where to start? Maybe a short intro is in order? Ok, here goes.

Life is short and I've had enough of being stuck in empty brick boxes, so the house is being sold/rented and I'll be living and working (laptop, internet, art materials) full time, all year round, on and off grid, pretty much permanently, mostly in wild coastal/mountainous parts of the UK including National Parks, and on the continent as and when allowed, in a self-build that hasn't been bought yet.
And I can't afford to do all of that while living out of campsites (believe it or not I won't get much from the house).

So I need to be able to sleep, breakfast and work, one man in a van, without being interfered with too much either by the law or by thieves.

And what's a bit scary about that is that I know **nothing**, so mistakes will inevitably be made.

I should really be much more terrified than I am, but there's only me; everyone else has gone and died and that tends to sober a person up a bit.

So, registering here and there and asking too many questions. Look forward to doing that here too hopefully?

And seeing as I seem to have a choice of where to spend my £15, here's the first question.

Is it worth joining?

:)
Andy.

Is it worth joining?

Yes and no!

You will find a mine of information on here and the majority are reasonable individuals.

The only reason I hesitated for so long ................ is that I did not want to be called ------'A FUNSTER!!!!':Eeek::swear2::Eeek:

Still don't!! ----- and it still rankles.

Can we have another name for members who are definitely not funsters?

I guess that depends on what it is you think you are and why you think you are different and definitely not a “funster” I am unclear as to what being a funster means in entirety but I would use the phrase ‘All in the Same Boat’ to indicate that I and my fellow companions or contemporaries on MHF are experiencing the same conditions or taking part in the same situation on a regular basis. It’s no big deal, it’s a convenient term to use, rather than say I am a member of Motor home fun. You may of course not consider yourself to be a funster, therefore, it is you that should decide firstly what your definition of a funster is and why you specifically exclude yourself from being one.

As for me I am a free thinking independent individual that likes to do his own thing and often does not have (but sometimes does) a lot in common with many of the people on this forum, I have however, attended several rallies, met some lovely people and have joined in many of the discussions and arguments found on the forum, yet, whilst maintaining my individuality at all times, am happy to be considered using the generic term of funster, and, have this generic term applied to me in general inclusive discussion. I am therefore by default a funster. What are you?(n)
