Breaking from all the planning, worrying, and worrying to write my second free post and first question.

Where to start? Maybe a short intro is in order? Ok, here goes.

Life is short and I've had enough of being stuck in empty brick boxes, so the house is being sold/rented and I'll be living and working (laptop, internet, art materials) full time, all year round, on and off grid, pretty much permanently, mostly in wild coastal/mountainous parts of the UK including National Parks, and on the continent as and when allowed, in a self-build that hasn't been bought yet.
And I can't afford to do all of that while living out of campsites (believe it or not I won't get much from the house).

So I need to be able to sleep, breakfast and work, one man in a van, without being interfered with too much either by the law or by thieves.

And what's a bit scary about that is that I know **nothing**, so mistakes will inevitably be made.

I should really be much more terrified than I am, but there's only me; everyone else has gone and died and that tends to sober a person up a bit.

So, registering here and there and asking too many questions. Look forward to doing that here too hopefully?

And seeing as I seem to have a choice of where to spend my £15, here's the first question.

Is it worth joining?

:)
Andy.

Yes you get the money back, and more on the van insurance discount. Tell them you're in a paid motorhome club and keep the proof of payment. I got £25 off (y)

It'll be the best £15 you'll spend on the motorhome and you'll recoup it in Spades from the savings you'll make with the free advice.:)
Go on you know it makes sense!(y)

Without a shadow of doubt. The return far exceeds the investment. I was so pleased I took the life membership when it became available.

The feedback and help I have received on here makes it a no brainer (as I understand they say these days - I think it used to be common sense).

Definitely not. An outrageous price when there are dozens of forums out there for free.

You don't really want a motorhome. Instead you need a customised Stealth Van. There are members on this forum that can help you with that. So, subscribe and I'm sure that they will come forward with advice, not just on Stealth Vans but also on full-timing. A £15 subscription could save you hundreds, if not thousands, of £s in expensive mistakes.

Yes , even if it were more I would pay to be on here, curses what have I said, fees will go up now

It's my information money saver , it's my newspaper , it's my joke book (Old Mo , dunno) and it keeps me occupied when tv is poor.

Go for it , worth every penny :clap2:

:welcome4: to Fun.

No doubt it's worth the subs for the amount of advice you can get, some of it even useful. It's the first place I go for info and a lot of that is not motorhome related although my query on Scandinavia most certainly is. The knowledge I've picked up from here from the Funster blogs on Sweden and Norway alone would take an eternity to find elsewhere.

Well it seems fair to say the weight of opinion is generally in favour, and going by the number of replies this would seem like a pretty active forum. So I'm on water and biscuits tonight before consulting the bank manager in the morning.

Thanks all.

Motorhome.fun has saved us lots of money and worry but best of all are the wonderful friends we've made. If you're in a bind there will be someone on here to help you get out of it in no time at all.

Welcome, I hope you have more luck than me in getting hold of a bloody flag!

I don't know the story behind that but perhaps you don't know the story behind the man who runs the site and, to the best of my knowledge, has spent much of the last year or more with his daughter in hospital in Wales and now Oxford. He did post a few days ago that he is back home at last so you may get your flag. ;)
