I was there, Humble Pie were terrible a real disappointment. Not counting pub gigs, Hyde Park 1971, Humble Pie and Grand Funk Railroad were the headline bands.

I'm surprised you thought that Lenny, i thought they were much better than Grand Funk Railroad, but we all have different tastes i guess. Looking online at some period reviews, they all say more or less that Frampton and Marriot stole the show. It was spoilt a bit by the Hells Angels who were supposed to be security being obnoxious, i don't know if you saw what was going on from wherever you were, one of them rode a bike through the crowd, but i don't think anyone got seriously hurt.I was there, Humble Pie were terrible a real disappointment.

Didn't expect a lot from Grand Funk there only claim to fame was claiming to be the loudest band in the world.
The Rainbow! That brings back memories. I moved to London in the 70’s I loved that place, and The Marquee, Roundhouse, Band Wagon and Hope and Anchor. I miss seeing great bands in small venues.Oh well, each to there own i liked them so much i paid to see them at the Rainbow
