Hopefully if your smoke alarm is working (we have two) you should get some advanced warning before resorting to extinguishers.

Also handy for telling you your toast is ready.

my pressure gauge was showing zero for some time so this winter I decided to throw it,
but i thought lets try it .... it worked absolutely perfectly ,it actually shocked me in how powerful a power type extinguisher can be . only operated it for half a second so it must have been a dodgy gauge , So do i buy a new one or.........

We too supplied fire extinguisher and have fire blanket, hopefully never to be use!, Best to be safe than sorry

I would say Yes, as you appear to have activated but not fully discharged it.

I would replace it, partially discharged and a ? concerning the pressure.
