weinsberg 650

since 2000
i own a weinsberg 650 meg a class, its on a fiat 2021 chassis,it drives ok but for the banging and crashing over potholes and minor road imperfections. my question is, has anyone swapped out the original shock absorbers for a supposedly top of the range replacement and if so did it make any improvement to comfort.just this one modification i am interested in at the moment

realywith respect, why should they?
We pay thousands of pounds for a vehicle, so should not be up to the converter to change the shocks etc to give the customer, (from whom they are making a nice profit,) a pleasurable ride?

They do not, for the simple reason that, the vehicle would cost more and, the already abysmal payload, would be even less.
that is very technical, a lump of rubber for a shock absorber

The manufacturer recommends tyre pressures that are well above what continental recommend , however that makes the low tyre pressure warning light come on.
I wish that my Peugeot had the system that you can manually change the settings, like my passenger car
Peugeot want a ridiculous amount of money to re calibrate it.

I had that with my previous Peugeot moho. Reduced the pressures so that it was a whisker above the 'warning message level'. Haven't come across any adjustment/setting for my current Fiat based one, so have only reduced the pressures by a small amount.

Just asking but, do the wheel sensors not come with various setting then? If you change wheels or vehicle, what happens then?

The sensors are in the wheels and are not adjustable on the boxer ducato vehicles , can only be adjusted at a main dealer

Yet another piece of 'progress' that costs us money. :giggle:

My Son used his laptop and OBD reader to change the values for the sensors on my Ducato based motorhome. I had to buy him some specialist software for about £40 to do it.

I use screw-on TyrePal sensors. No complaints

Stellantis have changed the rear suspension on the new Series 8. Now they only have 2 leaf springs and an anti roll bar. This has significantly raised the cost of rear suspension upgrades due to the newer OEM design needing to be removed & replaced with 3 leaf springs even to fit standard air bags.

Hopefully, with all those changes, it will not need an upgrade or they have spent an awful lot of R&D money for nothing?

Does that include the spare? It's quite awkward to get at mine to check the pressure.

Plus, instead of all this extra sensor's etc. Would it not be better to have the tyres filled with gas which are, supposedly, not to leak.
Has anyone had the tyres gassed up?

I though this thread might be actually about them producing something which would be a shock ;)

They're ok upto 3650kg, anything higher requires the improved leaf springs and the removal of the anti roll bar.

The TPMS can be adjusted by Multiecuscan on Ducatos its is on the yellow adaptor so probly read Peageot as some here mentioned he can read all but engine with MES.
Alfaobd can also read Boxer and Relay Engines.
There is a register on the Fiat Forum of people with Multiecuscan willing to help others.
I am willing to do this ( allow others to use my equipment with no liability on my part)
Both Multiecuscan and Alfaobd available in NOrthampton. PM me .

Alfaobd can also read Boxer and Relay Engines. You don't need dealers to do it .
