Hi All,

Looking at buying a new FIat Ducato campervan. The dealer does all warranty work but not servicing of the vehicle.
Can anyone recommend a reliable Fiat Professional Service Centre they have used in or around the Newcastle upon Tyne area or a reliable service centre (as understand they don’t have to be Fiat Professional) as long as they use Fiat parts.
Never had this problem in the past as have always had VW’s with good dealer on the doorstep who did both.
Have been searching but no luck so far.

Thanks
Mark

I live in north Wales so can’t recommend a local dealer for you - but if you’re getting a new van I would recommend you use an actual Fiat Professional garage as if you need any warranty work I’ll bet it won’t be straightforward if you didn’t ….. (I have paid for an extended warranty as there is so much these days that can go wrong - Airbag ECU as an easy example 😮)

I’m looking at getting the extended warranty as you say some expensive stuff can go wrong.

Thanks

My local Fiat Professional dealer didn’t know how to sort the extended warranty (or so they claimed!) so I got it through Jo Collinson at Adams Morey in Portsmouth 👍😁

Remember that if you want the fiat extended warranty for 5 years it has to be registered via a Fiat professional dealer within 15 days of registration.
I’ll make sure it’s done 👍
I did ring Camper uk in Lincoln asking about warranty and looking at reviews they seem like a good dealership but it is a good drive down to them.

Thanks

How do you find out if your Fiat MH has a 5 year warranty? I bought mine in Feb (70 plate) and had an issue with the aircon and when I inquired at the local Fiat dealership they told me MHs only have a 2 year warranty. That was without giving the registration number.

You would know because your wallet would be £866.66 lighter 😂

Already been mentioned must be signed up to within 15 days of purchase.

That's fair enough but if you are buying second hand?

You won’t get a Fiat warranty on SH.

However, you could buy a warranty from :-

Thanks, I will probably take my chances but wanted to make sure I hadn't missed out on a 5 year warranty through ignorance! Presumably it's just for the first registered owner then?

Camper UK have a nice Burstner in at the moment - buts it’s an arm an a leg. 😳. Definitely agree with the extended warranty.

I’m always checking for new vans but only after a 540

Thanks

In Hull we have a FP car and van dealer but they were unable to accommodate motorhomes on their vehicle lift due to height and weight, so would send it out, unbeknown to us, to a local van service centre, even though they gladly accepted the business. We then decided to use the local FP commercial vehicle dealer (North East Truck and Van) who were really good for a few years. We wanted the FP service record in the book just in case.
So, I would try your local commercial dealer.

The 5 year warranty is transferable to the new owners ( It is the vehicle that has the warranty not people).
If you have the extended warranty it would be a certificate with your van paperwork. Having taken mine in for work it is not something that shows on fiat database.

that’s what we did, we sourced our Motorhome via a Newcastle dealer they did not register the vehicle had been sold with Fiat and did not understand the extended warranty after speaking with Fiat camper Italy they put us in touch with Adams Morey in Portsmouth and take the MoHo there for servicing. The other thing we found the dealer did not do was register the ceramic coating for warranty. All I can say is keep a spread sheet and email everything that is agreed with the MoHo dealer whoever they are.

I’m starting to write everything down to remind myself but would like to get a good garage for the service side sorted

Thanks

I’ve been looking at N.E Trucks at Blaydon but not sure about customer service from them

Thanks
I've used Carlisle for a couple of warranty issues as they are my closest Fiat Pro Dealer. Each time they have taken over one month to get me an appointment and when I arrived at 08:00 on the appointment day, I was told that they will get to my van sometime, but it may be as late as 16:00. They do stick to their word on keeping up you hanging around, as it seems fixing trucks is more lucrative for them. Last summer Carlisle were quoting 2 months to look at an air con problem under warranty, Blaydon were the same timescale, but I got significantly better customer service from NETV at their York branch.
I have not used NETV for non warranty work - maybe their customer service would be better when you are paying a lot of money for their service..

I’ve seen on the forums that trucks get sorted first and not sure about customer service from them.

Thanks

Wouldn't touch NETV! They don't have a clue about comfortmatic gearbox for 1.

I emailed them more than a month ago for a cost on the required 5 year timing belt change. Got the auto receipt 'someone will be in touch' - still waiting.

That's good enough for me not to use them.

They don’t get good reviews, I’m still searching for a good garage but unfortunately not much around the Newcastle area.

Thanks

According to Adams Morey it shows up on the Fiat database. I bought mine from Chelston Motorhomes (Fiat Professional) and Adams Morey printed off the confirmation of guarantee without a problem. They said because they had not sold the extended warranty they did not have the full details but they had access to enough to show the duration of the warranty. It also shows on Fiat myCamper if you log in.

Sadly some Fiat Professionals not only seem to have problems understanding the latest service requirement e.g. changing Comfortmatic clutch fluid but also have no idea how to use the Fiat database.
