Anyone know how to identify the bhp of these engines.

Mine is a 2017 2.3 150 bhp euro 6 non ad-blu. Following a recent service (I'm now on holiday) I had to check the oil level which seemed on the low side of the tolerance. Must admit I never usually look at the engine.

Now the Hymer handbook shows pictures of the different engines and the picture that corresponds with mine says it's a 115. ???????

Is the book wrong? am I reading it wrong? or is the engine only 115 bhp and not 150?

Post 2014, Fiat multijet 2.3 litre diesel engines come in 130, 150 and 180 bhp
There is a 115 hp engine, but that is only 2.0 litre. Not really big enough to push your Hymer around. Think your handbook may be wrong.

There are others, but most Ducato bases are 2.3 litre.

Thanks. I believe they changed in 2017 but don't know how much. Its still curious why the handbook show pictures of engines where the only one like mine says 115

Sorry I don’t understand. Do you not believe the badging? 🤔
Not sure what you mean by the badging. I bought mine nearly new from a dealer in Newark who isn't Brownhills and it was supposed to be 150bhp. The log book says 2300 but not the bhp. Where is the badging?

One generic handbook for many models, if the interior isn't too different they wont update the whole book

If you look on the VIN plate you will see the engine code, for the 150BHP one it is F1AE3481E which is 107KW

I think that is the engine number as it's nothing like the VIN also engine number is impossible to see on an A Class that's why they get registered with the engine number as "unknown"

Sorry you are quite correct, should have said the Fiat identification plate, attached is a pic from a previous van which clearly shows the engine type. Carthago63.jpg

There is a web site which at moment I can't find but so long as you have the VIN number you can get full build details of your base vehicle, attached is a photo of the first page of the one I downloaded for the van I posted the plate picture of.

If you enter the Vin code at Vindecoderz, it should show the power as other build details...

This badging on the front wing. The conversion is British not the base Ducato.

Is it possible that your handbook is quoting KW rather than BHP?

I have this number on my log book, which you invariably need when ordering spare parts, it's the engine type.
F1AGL411D.
Can't see my 130BHP on the log book, perhaps it's so small it's invisible 🤷‍♂️

Don't think so. It doesn’t say. It shows pictures of engines called 115, 130, 150 &180. Sounds like bhp to me.

Thanks all. Just checked my vin on line and it is 2.3 DS 150 E6 TL
Power is 107kw, 145CV so that makes it 147bhp.

Still doesn't explain why the manual shows my engine picture as 115CV

True. The engin plate is well hidden behind the engine.

Most Ducatos produce their max torque on about 60-100hp so anything more isn't much use unless you're in marketing or sales
