I've just been quoted £560 by Motorsave in Manchester. Is this the going rate now? I want to get it serviced by an authorised Fiat Professional service place as it's still under warranty.

That's a crazy price for not very much more than an oil and filter change.
I'm planning on booking mine in with a Fiat Professional Workshop for a day before the warranty expires. If all good a few days before that, cancel and go to an independent
Be very careful. It would be very unusual not to get a good will gesture from a manufacturer after the warrenty has expired. Very often if you contact customer service they will at least discount the parts. Not for ever obviously but if something unexpectedly goes wrong they will normally help out.
If you use an independent for that first service you will probably lose any further support from FIAT. It also is good to have the main dealer stamp when selling, especially at the first service.

Ducato 9 speed auto 1st 2 year service at Motus Derby just over £400, did 4 ecu updates and recalibration of 3rd gear change. Excellent service while you wait took 3 to 4 hours
..........and as above the independent is unlikely to be able to do updates etc.

Take you point but having had your view on life previously and been disappointed at the response on 2 separate occasions, I've personally made my choice. One of the issues was with a fraying seat belt just outside of warranty with less than normal mileage on which they put down to wear and tear and would not entertain consideration.

Hi Hettie's Crew,
Things cost more now. North East Truck and Van (York) now want £324 for an oil change plus filter for a 2021 Ducato!

Warranty expired so I have just done my own Ducato 3 year 30,000 mile service. Non genuine parts cost just over £100 for all filters (inc cabin) and oil. Reset tool for service mileage and oil degredation £149.
hi, i normally do my own service of vehicles, but have not as yet had the pleasure of doing my 21 plate fiat MH, could you please explain to me what is the reset tool you mention.thank you in anticipation

You have to reset service interval back to 30,000 miles. The oil degradation counter needs to be told fresh oil is in the sump and keeps a check of driving style and mileage. When it thinks the oil is past its best( around 30,000 miles) it puts the oil light on. If you ignore it, after a few restarts it goes into limp mode to protect the engine.
Turns out the cheaper tools do not get past Fiat gateway FCA licence requirements on 2018 and later models so a refund for the £149 iCarsoft FA2.0 and off down to the local garage who reset for a fiver.

1 op has a swift on his avitar, does that not have 3 year warrenty, as all uk convertors, eu converters are 2 years.
2 with low mileage euro6 engines oil should be changed every year (<8k miles pa) and should not be left for more than 3 months without running.
3 Multiecuscan can scan 2018,early 19 as the gateway was not added to Ducatos at the begiinning. A device to get around this is available. What years Is it actualy fitted to.

Is a software tool the only way to reset the service and oil change counters, and does the vehicle really go into limp-home mode if they’re not reset?

Also, what about the age of the oil?
Our Ducato is a 2021 model but was registered Jan 22, so not officially due its first service until Jan 24.
The Adria build date was July 21, but the Fiat part could have been built months earlier, so by Jan 24 the oil could be in the engine three years. I will therefore be changing the oil and filter at the end of this year.
If I do this myself and don't reset the oil change counter, is the engine likely to go into limp mode because it thinks the oil is more than two years old (even though it is still well within the recommended 30,000 mile interval) ?

I have a November 2017 registered van which has just reached 32k and had it's, supposedly, first service (30k) yesterday at the local Fiat Professional /Motorhome Dealer at a cost of 370 euro.

I had the oil and fluids changed by the dealer when originally purchased as it was a 2016 model year, the Fiat bit probably 2015. Oil has been changed approximately every 10,000 kms.

I checked out Multieuscan and the free app version connects to all systems and they assured me the licensed version will work with no problem on the 2019 Ducato models to reset service counters and many other things like brake fluid bleeding. The license is £50 per year and requires renewal annually to keep full function. The free version works as a code reader thereafter. So a free app on the iPhone and a £10 bluetooth adaptor for the diagnostic socket gets you a code reader and just add a licence when you need it.

Have you subscribed to mes for the ios version?
the PC version is 50euro for a "lifetime" licience and one year of updates. The apple store pricing is dictated by apple. The pc version after the updates remains usable but tied to one piece of hardware, it is possible to change hard ware once a month and upto 10 times (did it yesterday)
edit be aware that £10 versions probably will not access fiat specific codes. Other threads cover at least 2 that work apart from the expensive reccomended versions.

FP Peterborough just quoted me £618.54 for a first service, not done 9000 miles yet!
Absolute rip off. At 9000 MLS how much air has travelled through your pollen filter and air filter - you've got it 9000mls worth. A competent DIYer could do the oil and filter change in 30mins - oil which is pretty special will cost circa £70 and oil filter around £12. Brake pads will not need looking at for at least 20k. Brake fluid is debatable and can be checked for moisture content with a £10 tester. Handbrake should come good at about 6 clicks - if not easy adjustment - don't even have to take the wheel off - just one wheel bolt to access adjuster. Remember these Motorhomes are based on commercial vehicle chassis designed to work in arduous conditions with silly high mileages and complete neglect by their owners.
