Delivered April 2021 😃. Still new, still learning. Only a couple of mishaps so far....
My sat nav keeps on defaulting from miles to kilometres. I change it on every journey but it always defaults back. I can’t see a default menu so not sure how to cure it.

Any ideas anyone?

Agree, our Hymer Free 540 Blue Evolution is also a new van and this is not good.

Can we just check that we are all talking about the same head unit?

This is what we have although the photos we taken before the latest unsuccessful software update.

Yes, we have the same head unit in our Adria Twin. Ours is still with Fiat (day 4) and I understand that Fiat have now created a bespoke software patch which is currently being downloaded. We hope to pick the van back up this evening so I will let you know whether it was successful. I photographed 3 pages of software/firmware versions prior to the van going in (they are further down the screen you show) so I will check to see which, if any, have been updated.

Great progress, you are leading the way! Hope the new software update patch is available to other Fiat dealers?

Look forward to hearing that it is successful and have my fingers crossed

Well we got the van back and it was in mph upon collection but the real test will be tomorrow morning. Will the mph setting have been retained? I will come back tomorrow and let you know and also also tell you which, if any, software package has been changed/updated.

I don't have a fixed satnag in either the van or the car but have a tablet running iGo that I can set to car, van, bike or walking.

Well done, look forward to hearing the result. If there is a new software reference then I can check that the Fiat garage near us can obtain it.

Here is my original system information and software versions. When it is light I will go and have a look to see what is happening

Well that's not good. Back to KM this morning and after checking the software versions they are all identical so I will get back on to Fiat. Hope someone else has more luck with this.

How frustrating for you after Fiat claimed they had fixed the problem. I will have a look this weekend at the unsuccessful software versions on the software version that Fiat Bury St Edmunds said they had uploaded for us and we can compare.

I phoned the Fiat helpline yesterday but was told that the issue has to go through a dealer. I asked if he could log the issue to Fiat HQ as many UK head units have the same satnav fault, but he said he couldn't do that.

Keep trying at your end as I think you are further ahead than the rest of us. Maybe your garage didn't complete the upload properly if you are still showing the same version.

Hi,
We have had ours (Twin 640SLB) fixed by Brownhills.
We took our van in and the mechanic's had to take some info from our head unit to send to Fiat in Italy, they told us all the head units are different and needed specific info from ours. They told us that a Fiat professional mechanic has to complete the upgrade to fix the mph/km/yards issue and that they would call us to let us know when the Fiat guy would be on site.
They called us the following week and I took the van in on Thursday 14th Oct, there where 3 other vans booked in for the same problem. I waited about 2 hours for the Fiat guy to work his magic and it is now fixed 😃.

That's interesting Suts. Well done to Brownhills in arranging that.

I have contacted Hymer Travelworld Stafford (150miles away) where we bought the Free 540 van, and they didn't appear to know there is a common problem. That's another avenue to try.

Think we could all do with Sooty's magic wand.

We don't know if the head unit on our new van has this fault, but it has been confirmed by our dealer this week that the head unit has been causing the battery drain, meaning we have been waiting since early August (original collection date) for our van. The Fiat garage in Exeter refused to change under warranty as they claimed it was Adria fitted.

Seems the overlap between base vehicle and vehicle converter as a few grey area’s. 🤷‍♂️

Hi Wireworld,

Have now photographed my head unit screen and the Navigation software system is the same version as yours, both on the main settings screen and on the satnav screen.

Would have thought that the date on the Fiat satnav red screen (accessed via the Navigation screen) would be more up to date than Jul 23 2020!

There are no mentions of any revision update number changes.

Let me know how you get on if you go back to your Fiat dealer.

Whether by Adria or Hymer it seems that this is a Fiat installation.

Am off to the Fiat garage at Bury st Edmunds tomorrow with this km/hr issue.

Has anyone else had any success recently with this problem?

Fiat in Exeter changed my complete head unit after a software update failed to resolve the issue.

It has been sat on the drive since so I am hoping it remains on MPH!

Just checked. Still MPH but as another user said - the height and width of the vehicle is now in yards! 😂. I think I can live with that.

The Hymer 540 is just back from Fiat Bury st Edmunds (Desira) and they had to refer the problem to Italy, as the previous programme they had uploaded hadn't fixed the issue.

A couple of days later a new Satnav programme patch was sent over to them and it was uploaded.

It seems to be working and has remained set at mph for almost 24 hours without reverting to Km/hr.

Fingers crossed that this is the solution.

So, Fiat have had another go today and the update only took 10 mins. I have checked and this time at least there is a new software version so I will report back tomorrow and let you know if it has “stuck” on mph

Just checked and the update seems to have worked this time as the satnav was still in MPH this morning.
