Fiamma awning mounting

When we bought our van in 2015, we had a Fiamma awning installed. It’s all worked fine but I’ve noticed that in all three mounting brackets fixed to the side of the van only one side of the bracket is actually screwed down. I’ve attached a photo. I was just wondering why this is the case. Shouldn’t both ends of each bracket be fixed?

Seems like a good idea go prevent the need for pegging the legs
you can also fit the Fiamma legs to the wall of the van by fitting the wall brackets

I have them on my current van.. zoom in and you will see them .. one just in front of the tail light .. the other near the passenger door .. mine are plastic, they also make them in aluminium

I have the little holders for the legs to slide into, just worried about causing the aluminum. Does it still wind out the whole way?
