Ferries to Ireland

Not just you, I have been a number of times for usually 6 days, travelling solo, to visit archaeological sites, never crossed Holyhead Dublin return for less than £380 with cabin, fly drive cheaper, however, can't carry my equipment nor have the flexibility.

I could fly but that defeats the object of having a Moho ?

We like to explore.

Well if you want to visit the promised land you must understand it’s gonna cost ya

Hi all

I’m looking for suggestions on what ferry and time to travel to Eire.

Probably late May to early June for a couple of weeks.

Being a tight fit cheapest will do.
There’s two of us and the small dog.

7m x 3m Moho

TiA ?

Ohh and we’re in Cheltenham so Liverpool or Wales on this side of the water presumably is best ?
Hi Check your supermarket vouchers have just booked with Stena out from Liverpool to Dublin, Back from Belfast so we can do a loop. Paid £35 with £100 of Tesco Vouchers getting £300 off from Stena

From the reading ive done it would seem that sea truck are most probably the cheapest operator but IMO at the expense of a longer crossing time less flexibility on sailing times....
When you go hope you have a great time..
Andy.

Seatruck are no good if you have children, animals or are disabled. I think there is only a couple of sailing each day and it is a freight ferry with mostly unaccompanied freight. Cars and motorhomes are used to help fill space.

You do get a cabin and meals included in the price. There is a drivers' lounge with tv etc.

To get the very best prices you need to call them and be flexible as they will find a crossing with space capacity that they want to fill.

We used them a couple of years ago and I would do the same again :) The ships are so big they don't really sway too much and the Irish Sea can be rough. It is a long crossing (time wise) though. There is a P&R just off the M6 Heysham junction where you can park up for a few hours on the way or from the port. Beware of the tolls through the port tunnel in Dublin and also on the motorway round Dublin - a bit like the Dartford Crossing fee pay system but check in advance.

Had a look at CMC booking and still £350 to £400.

It seems quite a lot to me or am I just being tight ??
Surprised we paid £230 return, but it was mid-week.

Blimey that’s excellent.

Unfortunately SWMBO uses her vouchers as soon as she gets them.

Thanks, all I did was go on their web site.
Will give them a call.

About how long is the crossing.
The mutt would be happy in the Moho in her cage ?

I tried different dates and times but still came back at £320 plus ?

Can I ask when you booked and when you sailed ie lead time

Travelled early September booked about 5 week in advance.

It has been said before that the Irish Sea is the most expensive piece of water to cross with a motorhome.
On my trips, Holyhead to Dublin I budget for £300.

That seems to be about the minimum cost I’ve found so far.

We have tried all the routes over the last 40 years or so (we are in Bolton). Nowadays we stick with the P & O ferry from Liverpool
