Fed up... Help please.. Mh

Once i hadto take myouter grills off and leave them off when it was very hot…………
dont ask me why lol

Hi Movan,

Lots of posts seen, BUT are you sorted or still need help?

Anyone near your location you could pop out too.

If batteries flat maybe an ignitor issue, ( not enough to ignite the gas) As said Dometic https://www.dometic.com/en-gb/uk
won't charge for help/info.

Could be a sooty flue/burner preventing sufficient flame.

If not used for a while in last few weeks of damp conditions, need to run on mains for a day or so to dry out. Least ways our old Kontiki did that quite often.

Been mentioned fridge vents, can't see that as main issue, if blocked by webs, fridge would go on gas and not get cool enough may flame out (unlikely) but you would hear a click click and slight roar as the igniter operated and the gas lit.

If non of those you need to check fuses and gas supply.

Has the gas been off for a while if so may take quite a few attempts to get it going again.

Must have tried much of the above already, sorry. Hope you get sorted. No comms tomorrow.

Good luck.

Had a similar problem yesterday on our 3month old Dometic , could not put fridge on gas tried everything , had to go to dealer today and it seems that there is a small fault with a terminal block with moisture getting into the connection and not making a connection this is just inside the bottom vent, l was told by the mechanic that a hire company had all 6 Dometic fridge's fail with the same fault , all he did was to clean the contacts and it worked straight away ,but it took ages to freeze up

Morning everyone. Thank you for further help.

Engine battery seems ok this morning. I wonder if I flattened it by keep trying to ignite fridge.

Anyway, here goes.

The grills don't have the screws to twist to take them on and off.

Once I get sorted this morning (still full time child ding) I will see if I can find which fuse is to the igniter. . in manual. Some of the ideas are good. I used the fridge, cooker and heating on gas at Corke and all was well... So I suppose fuse could have gone. Also, all the rain might have done the other thing mentioned above.

If I manage to try everything suggested and no luck, I will take mitzimad up on kind offer.

Thank you all again. I know it's difficult trying to understand faults from a distance...... especially when the person on the other end is a mh dumbo. Xxxx

If gas is reaching the hob, and fridge is working on 12v/EHU is it possible that the Fridge Control Panel has died on Gas? Our Burstner arrived 6 weeks ago with a duff Fridge Control Panel [12v had failed]. New Panel fitted and we still have the old one [which works on gas!] so that might give you a short term fix.

Keep us all posted Joy ! Many of us are on the edge of our seats .
Good luck .

Your not a dumbo Joy, you are a shining star.⭐🌟✨✨✨✨
You see this is one of the many good things about MHF, the willingness to help each other.

Nothing wrong with being a Dumbo, having seen the film many times (and even as a grown man I still get leaky eye syndrome occasionally) I found Dumbo to be a wonderful friendly lovable character (just like movan (and Mrsambulancekidd of course)) though maybe a little "silly" at times (just like  :giggle:)

Hi Moven does the gas hob still work? If not and the gas is turned on check you don't have a crash sensor unit fitted before the regulator it's a small green button you need to press this in to allow gas to flow , might be a long shot but worth a try , please don't think you are bothering folks on here we are all here to try and help , keep us informed .

I have sent them a message. Thank you. Hopefully they will come back to me.

I am on piece of ground and no access to ladder to get into top vent.
How many times do you have to ,be told STAY OFF THE LADDERS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! please

Its been 3 weeks since Movan's problem started in this thread - do we know if its working again or not?

Perhaps someone can help at the next Rally which you are attending movan?

Hello lovely people. Thank you for caring.

I did put an answer and said what happened but it looks like I've put it on the wrong thread. :(. Sorry.

I took it to a caravanparts place and they took the grill off. There was a piece which had disconnected. They cleaned it all upbut it still wouldn't work. Then, after about two hours' work, he found a faulty piece but couldn't order a new one as Germany make them and are refusing to sell them to us. :(

He searched and found me a second hand one and so for the time being it is working. :). :). :)

Thanks all again. I'll go and see if I can find where I posted my answer in the wrong place.

Found it under Dometic fridge thread. :)

Hi sunshine. Went to a place in Shepton Mallet. The new part needed is made in Germany and Germany are refusing to supply us.

The man had a secondhand part which he put on for me to see me through but I'm not sure how long it will last. At the moment it is working. Thankfully. As I couldn't afford to kerp throwing my food away. :)

your leisure battery is flat, when your run the engine, you are charging it up that is why your fridge works when you engine is running

So pleased you got sorted Joy, I’ve just put a new circuit board on mine after weeks of mucking about. I’ve replaced nearly every part on this fridge, at great expense, I hate Dometic fridges. The board was the most expensive item £180.00

Crumbs. Glad you managing to get the parts you need. (y)

Glad it is sorted movan one less worry for you don’t fret about it being a used part, some of my cars lasted longer on used spares than new replacement parts.
