Fastest 50cc

Was A big thing between manufacturers which ped could do a true 50mph as standard think the FS1E was about the top

Amongst the fastest japs I found it was suzuki AP 50 but the likes of the gillera scrambler with the washer taken out the exhaust would easily beat the japs

I seem to remember the honda SS50 had the same restrictor but in the inlet duct between carb and manifold

Also had one of the worst two wheeled things on the road a lambretta Sx150 ..removed all the panels cut of just behind the seat fully skeletonised..looked good but rode like a candy floss and and about as reliable as a paper bag for carrying water

I had an RD 125 AS3 , the one before the coffin tank , went well till I burnt a hole in the piston crown

I got one of these after my RD with reed valves... whatever those are... unfortunately I hit a smooth wet man hole one night and dented it a bit

I had a Fizzy and my mate in the village had a Honda SS50, he asked me to drop it off for a service on my way to work one morning. The garage lent me an old C50 step thru for the day and it was faster than the SS50 !
You could do a good wheely on it too, if you stood on the gear lever, revved it up and lifted your foot off the pedal a bit sharpish.
Fizzy's are fetching a good price these days !
