Fantastic news for those heading to Scotland this Summer

I think I have it correct that a new aire type facility is nearly complete at Mallaig.
Yes you are correct however that one is a long way from me.The 3 i know of are reasonably close to me.

I Think you will be made very welcome in the Highlands
Mountain man i know i will be made welcome in the Highlands I am born and brought up 30 miles from you just head north past the Crask. Just seems all you here now is the Highlands is overran wth Motor homes when this is not all true I was up in Noverber to see a mate and I think i was the only motor home. That aside do you still get the salmon jumping at the falls.

Yes we still get the salmon jumping at the falls of shin.
The Crask well know remote pub. We’re you close to Alnahara.? .November was quite with Motorhomes however that was not the case in the summer.

Always been made welcome in Scotland. In fact everywhere I have been worldwide.

More to do with not being rude or idiotic and respectful to other people’s homes.

If Scotland get their network of aires, I am sure more people will visit and I would hope be kind and respectful while enjoying the beautiful place.

Ahh Tongue .

So do no folk from the Highlands go on holiday no one in the Highlands got a motorhome - caravan that go to other parts of the UK and Europe if they do then it should be made clear that they are not wanted and should stay in the Highlands.IMHO.
We have a holiday house (future retirement home) in Wester Ross. Many folk haven’t even been round the other side of the loch. Yes they love holidays - but, especially amongst the significant elderly population, their priority is to stay safe.

Just today ordered SOS from Avon!
Hope it works better for you than it did us, was like midgie BBQ sauce the way they were queueing for a bite! Deet's the only thing we've ever found to be effective.

I'm just looking forward to being free to jump in the van whenever and head wherever :)

It’s one of many preventatives I take as midgets love me (as they did my Mum). . SOS all over, insect repellent on exposed areas, different strengths depending on the day I am planning. Long sleeves and trousers if walking, avoiding trees, water and dusk and if really bad the face nets!

There were quite a few vans parked at various locations throughout the Trossachs last Sunday, I'm assuming they had stayed overnight.

If they stayed there overnight I hope they all got booked in the morning.

Never saw any boys in blue and anyway I think they aren't taking any action with vehicles parked up this time round, there was no end of cars parked near the popular mountains for climbers too.

Any idea what they will be charging? The bays look a bit narrow.
Don’t no about charging prices yet but I will update soon as.Parking bays are opposite the marked lines you see are for visitors to the centre.

Here in Dumfries and Galloway we are in no rush to open up to tourists. This last wave hit us really hard and there is no wish to repeat that, so caution is the watchword. Things will open up but perhaps not as soon as some would wish.
Even the wallet? :winky:

Yes overnight is allowed.Price for EHU still to be confirmed. Also they may be opening the small covered area for coffee and cakes ,main restaurant has no one to take it on yet.

Just had a look at the prices for Falls of Shin and was shocked at the tariff for electric hook up as per the attached. No charge for overnight.

£3 for waste and water I thought was fair.

Wow!

You can’t use that much electric in an hour even at max wattage it will draw.

Fine by me as we wouldn’t use it anyway, I suppose they have to get the installation cost back somehow.
