Yeah it's only working on no.4 so definitely resistor but does it look only 9 months old. Was changed under warranty but I'm not sure it was a new part? The fuse goes if it gets too hot normally. It's a common problem and when it goes the fan runs on one speed only, just changed mine in the car.
No water all dry under there, I suspect dealer has replaced it with second hand part, just thought I'd ask as I would not imagine it would deteriate that quickly????Does look a bit shabby with signs of corrosion. Is water getting on to it in some way?

I changed my heater fan one in the passenger footwell about 6 yrs ago on my X250 Ducato from a kit I got from Maplins (I think) so no, they don't go that often?Yeah it's only working on no.4 so definitely resistor but does it look only 9 months old. Was changed under warranty but I'm not sure it was a new part?
Thank you

Hi, I haven't changed it, it was replaced last October by motorhome depot as it was still under 3 months warranty but it stopped working about 4 weeks ago, only just taken it off to order a new one.I changed my heater fan one in the passenger footwell about 6 yrs ago on my X250 Ducato from a kit I got from Maplins (I think) so no, they don't go that often?
Did you replace the cab filter at the same time as this is advisable?
It does look a lot older than 9 months.Yeah it's only working on no.4 so definitely resistor but does it look only 9 months old. Was changed under warranty but I'm not sure it was a new part?

I'd also check that the intake to the fan is not blocked with leaves which is the usual problem why they overheat and fail.Yeah it's only working on no.4 so definitely resistor but does it look only 9 months old. Was changed under warranty but I'm not sure i
Hi, yes I think so too, does not surprise me as motorhome depot sold me my motorhome with 13 years old tyres and when I contacted them the lady there said its not illegal and won't reply to me now.It does look a lot older than 9 months.

Will do, it seems clear of debris in the intake, I think motorhome depot replaced with a second hand part myself.I'd also check that the intake to the fan is not blocked with leaves which is the usual problem why they overheat and fail.
Thank you for your reply. I took old one off today was very easy just contacted auto company to order OEM part.Common problem. Mine went whilst enroute to Spain one year in heatwave temperatures. Blower would only operate on one setting and that was intermittent. I ordered a replacement via Amazon and had it delivered to the site. Relatively easy fix.
If you’re stuck, I’ll try look back for the part number.
Won't the failed resistor have a one year warranty on it, being a new replacement?Thank you for your reply. I took old one off today was very easy just contacted auto company to order OEM part.
Thank you for your help

Hi, I'm not sure but warranty was only for 3 months but I'm not sure they replaced the resistor with a new one. It was replaced October 2023 by motorhome depot but when I removed it yesterday it was rusty (as pictures). I can't make out writing on the resistor but can make out stamp quoting 12/15, if that's month/year not sure but wouldn't be surprised because they sold me motorhome with 13 yr old tyres.Won't the failed resistor have a one year warranty on it, being a new replacement?

Thank youCheck the wiring harness too. The socket it plugs into often gets toasted and causes further failures. The resistor pack is often sold with the connector and wire tails to patch the replacement back in.
I think mine failed because my wife is a serious fidget. It's actually fairly easy for the passenger to kick the connector and short it out.
Could well be only 9 months old. They sit in the wet cold air drawn in by the heater so rust very quickly. They're only a fiver off Temu so I doubt they would bother trying to source a used one.Hi all, can I ask if you think this resistor was only 9 months old. It was replaced end October last year whilst under warranty and has stopped working again. Only numbers I can make out are 12/15 on green part. Do they deteriate that quickly?
Thank you
Anthony
